BCS DECLARES GERMANY WINNER OF WORLD WAR II US Ranked 4th
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
After determining the Big-12 championship game participants the BCS computers were put to work on other major contests and today the BCS declared Germany to be the winner of World War II.

"Germany put together an incredible number of victories beginning with the annexation of Austria and the Sudetenland and continuing on into conference play with defeats of Poland, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. Their only losses came against the US and Russia; however considering their entire body of work--including an incredibly tough Strength of Schedule--our computers deemed them worthy of the #1 ranking."

Questioned about the #4 ranking of the United States the BCS commissioner stated "The US only had two major victories--Japan and Germany. The computer models, unlike humans, aren't influenced by head-to-head contests--they consider each contest to be only a single, equally-weighted event."

German Chancellor Adolph Hitler said "Yes, we lost to the US; but we defeated #2 ranked France in only 6 weeks." Herr Hitler has been criticized for seeking dramatic victories to earn 'style points' to enhance Germany's rankings. Hitler protested "Our contest with Poland was in doubt until the final day and the conditions in Norway were incredibly challenging and demanded the application of additional forces."

The French ranking has also come under scrutiny. The BCS commented "France had a single loss against Germany and following a preseason #1 ranking they only fell to #2."

Japan was ranked #3 with victories including Manchuria, Borneo and the Philippines.

I do have to agree, Texas got the shaft. But in keeping up with the BCS..
TEXAS always gets the shaft. I think the only time it worked for us was the 2004 Rose Bowl.

Anyways, I have to agree with jb, that OU truly is not more deserving to play in the Big 12 game than Texas is. Honestly, Texas looked better beating A&M than OU did against OKstate.

Bottom line though is Texas did win the headtohead matchup when OU was #1. Honestly, I think OU would of lost the Tech game if in Lubbock.

Norman is near impossible to win at. Anyways though, as any Longhorn knows it, Mack Brown is not a Style points kind of guy, and I wish in the 4th qtr, they let Colt finish it up instead of bringing Chiles in.

On the other hand, Bob Stoops had to have Bradford in the game. Even the OU fans have to admit, that game could of been OKstate till the 4th qtr. Regardless, OU defense is VERY SUSPECT. Among the Big12, Texas has a better D, and the offense maybe just as good as OU, but Stoops as a coach rubs it it and never lets off the gas. Sometimes I would like Mack to be that way, but in the end; I will have to admit Mack is a classy guy and the best coach around since Darryl K. Royal....by the way I've personally met and is a great man.

Texas held their destiny in their own hands and failed just like many others becoming a victim of the BCS. I will say that I am sick and tired of the excuse "texas lost on a last 2nd miracle(hand of God) play". They were dominated start to finish, and were lucky to even have a chance in the 4th quarter. stats

rushing tx 80 ttech 105
passing 294 474
3rd dn eff 4/12 8/16
FD's 18 31
top 23 37

The only stat texas had an edge in was total punting yards and kick off returns. 200 yards difference in yards 18-31 first dwns, are you kidding me. Last 2nd victory my ass, try 1st second. Period.

Very creative! I had a few chuckles. But as a Michigan fan, I have no simpathy for you. It's so bad here I have to root for the Lions.

As a Michigan fan you root for a bad team in a horrible conference. Don't attempt to compare your situation (you lost to Ohio St who went on to expose your conference by getting killed by Florida who was clearly the correct team for the spot) to Texas' situation.

The poster who said Texas has no one to blame but themselves is however partially correct. They should not have ever lost to Tech and if these two teams HAD NOT PLAYED A HEAD TO HEAD GAME I would totally agree. But they did, and that makes it cut and dry.

Just like the example of this funny story.

Wow, your glasses are burnt orange color alright. How can you say texas' home win against a bad team (texas a&m) can be more impressive than okie's road win over a top 15 team (okie st)?

Before I go off, please note, I think Oklahoma should go only by the slimmest of margins. When all things are the same, Strength of Schdule and dominance of teams has to come into play. I wouldn't of had a problem if Texas went either though. Ok, here I go.

Texas fans all scream for head to head, but Texas Tech beat Texas, but that's thrown out the window because they are the lowest ranked BCS team, but BCS rankings should not count for Oklahoma and Texas because of head to head. Did you get that? I'll break it down, Texas fans just want everything that will help them and ignore everything that will hurt them. It's either one or the other, not both.

All three teams deserve to be in Kansas City. All three teams deserve to be in a BCS bowl. One team had to go and it happened to be Oklahoma.
