GUYS, WE HAD A SMALL PROBLEM ON THURSDAY....A RARE OCCASION HAPPENED ON THE SEATTLE/CLIPPERS GAME, WHEN THE GAME WENT OFF AT 5:30 A.M.
I MUST ADMIT I WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS EITHER, AS IT WAS LISTED AS A THURSDAY GAME, I THINK MOST ANYONE WOULD EXPECT IT TO BE THURSDAY NIGHT....

ONE OF THE PLAYERS DIDNT MAKE A PICK, NOT KNOWING OF THIS RARE TIME PROBLEM....

THE QUESTION, SINCE THIS IS SUCH A RARE AND ODD OCCASSION, SHOULD THE PLAYER BE PENALIZED....?

WE HAVE A RULE IN PLACE, THAT WOULD IN EFFECT CAUSE THIS TO BE A LOSS, BUT I FOR ONE, WOULD HAVE MISSED THIS GAME TOO, AND HATE TO SEE A PLAYER PENALIZED FOR SOMETHING THIS WEIRD....

BUT I NEED THE OPINIONS OF THE PLAYERS IN THE CONTEST....PLEASE VOTE BELOW, AND I WILL WAIT TIL MORNING TO SEE WHAT KIND OF RESULT WE GET BEFORE GRADING THE GAME EITHER WAY....I JUST ASK THAT U GUYS THINK WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE IF IT HAPPENED TO YOU...THIS IS NOT A CASE OF FORGETTING, OR NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCESS THE INTERNET.....

THIS IS A 5:30 A.M. NBA GAME....

We should have a new rule that states that if you DO NOT select a pick, then you have your team for that specific game. I dont know if this player would have won using that formula, but count it as a win if he would have won taking his team and a loss if they didnt cover.

Then if ANYONE else does not make a selection at one time or another, they AUTOMATICALLY get their team as a pick.

Let me start it off, if I DO NOT make a selection on a given night, then my bet will be ON my team to cover!

IF SOMEONE WANTS TO POST IN THE PICKS THREAD THAT THEY WANT THEIR TEAM THE WHOLE TIME, OR AGAINST THERE TEAM THE WHOLE TEAM THAT IS FINE, BUT THE POINT IS TO MAKE PICKS..

THE ONLY REASON WE HAVE THE QUESTION ON THE OTHER MATTER IS BECAUSE OF THE "VERY RARE" OCCASION THAT A GAME WENT AT 5 AM......

WE ARE TRYING TO BE FAIR....

NOW CAN WE JUST GET BACK TO THE TOURNEY, AND HAVE FUN.....

THESE THINGS SHOULD NOT BE SO DIFFICULT ALL THE TIME....

WE ARE DOING ARE BEST TO BRING FUN, FAIR CONTESTS........

THINGS ALWAYS COME UP, EVEN WHEN U THINK U HAVE COVERED ALL BASES...SO I AM TRYING TO BE AS FAIR AS POSSIBLE...

BY THE WAY, IF ANYONE FEELS THIS ISNT FAIR AND WANTS OUT, HACHE MAN SAID HE WILL BUY THEIR TEAM, AND DOGS 24, WANTS A TEAM TOO....SO THERE IS A WAY OUT, IF ANYONE THINKS I AM RUNNING THIS WRONG, OR UNFAIR......

Players should know whats going on with the team. Where they are and their japan trip should be part of their capping anyhow. Same goes for the next game. They are playing doubleheader and need to cap that situation.

Responded to the fact earlier that contigencies occur, with business, weather and such and was told in the post that "we all know the rules and not to enter if you cannot post".

That said, I have LA CLippers and I posted very early for the fact they were playing in the AM.
Nothing against anyone else, but if its good for the goose shouldnt it be good for the gander.

Whatever the group decides is fine. Good Luck this weekend.

Hey look rules are rules and if they start changing mid-stream this contest will be a joke. I'm in no way trying to be a hard ass and have a degree of sympathy for the player; but even I, with no vested interest, was aware of this game and its starting time. I believe the line was posted. And if I read this right the other player made his pick and maybe even lost. Am I right on that? I see no need for any discussion.

At the very least one should be aware of his teams starting time. If one is not than he is not taking the contest very seriously and should not whine.

As I said rules are rules and after my bet on Wisky at Sam Boyd got cancelled when the plug was pulled, I kicked my dog but didn't call my out whining about it.

That's just my two cents on this controversy and I will say no more. Of course its really not that big a deal and I will have no problem accepting the group consensus. This dude abides.

ALTHOUGH I FEEL FOR VINI, BECAUSE I WAS NOT AWARE OF IT EITHER, I DO WATCH FOR WHEN "MY" TEAM IS PALYING, AND THAT IS KIND OF THE POINT OF THIS TOURNEY.....

NO PLAY WAS MADE, SO IT WILL HAVE TO BE A LOSS....THERE ARE 19 GAMES LEFT, THIS VERY WELL COULD NOT MATTER AT ALL, BY THE TIME THE PLAYOFFS GET HERE.....
