I haven't been a member here for long, but thanks for a great website. I'd just like to shed some light on ATS, having been a subscriber with them for over two years, ending over a year ago.
I initially subscribed to ATS prior to the football season after hearing that they were a profitable tout service. After calling, I was informed that they offered two services - a Financial Package and a Lock Club Service. The Financial Package costed about a quarter-less than the Lock Club package, so I chose the former.
At ATS, you are assigned an account representative, who you speak with each time you call.
After a few so-so weeks with the Financial Package, my rep told me how well the Lock Club was doing, and I decided to fork out the bucks for that.
Their college football picks were great...unfortunately, their NFL picks were not.
I ended up making a bunch of money on their college FB picks, although I gave some back on their NFL picks.
After football, I chose to continue with them with their hoops program. What a mistake that was!
They had a terrible season. I don't think they hit 40% of their plays. At one point, my rep told me that a lot of the subscribers were fading their plays...wish I would have done that. I ended up losing about $20k.
My rep was a good guy and I actually felt sorry for him. To make up for my losses, he offered me NHL, then Arena Football and eventually MLB picks for free to make up for my losses. None of those programs were profitable.
I returned for the next football season. Once again, I made a lot of money on their college picks and, while playing their NFL selections small, showed a decent profit.
Unfortunately, I paid these guys over $10k over the course of time.
Here are my positive reflections with my experience with ATS:
1. They were - and seem to continue to be - rock solid in NCAA football - especially in the early season.
2. Their claim on Lock Games in football is one of the best in the business.
The negatives:
1. They're kind of shady regarding their records in football and basketball. They don't include the juice, which makes a big difference in the long run.
2. For me, the only sport that they were profitable at during my subscription time was football...they lost at all the other sports. For instance, in MLB, they love to take the favs and we all know that's a losing proposition.
Final analysis on ATS:
Play their "Lock Games" in football...otherwise, don't follow them.
