from last to first:

10th #9 Miners Escape 15-1: Looks very plausible that he may be the one up front if charitable man decides to not be the pace setter, there expecting a generally easy pace and he does have AP Indy bloodlines, still major concerns on him getting the distance vs a quality field, notice he broke maiden two back but it took 6 tries, last was a nice effort but now packs on 10lbs nd has yet to produce a figure in the 90s, only effort vs someone from here was his debut vs charitable man where he was absolutely spanked, expect him to finish last unless they set the slowest belmont time ever.

9th #5 Luv Gov 20-1: It is New York, named for ole spitzer but if Patterson is his lookout for this race he might miss the bell at the start, looks overambitiously placed especially after the laxidaisical finish in the preakness, switches back to Mena who is 1-1 on the colt but appears to have the worst breeding in the field on paper, wouldnt mind it wet, just dont see any conceivable way of hitting the ticket.

8th #3 Mr Hot Stuff 15-1: Hasnt beaten anything special as of yet and was always a cut below pioneerofthenile who absolutely bounced on a fast track in last, so not entirely convinced especially after the 15th place finish in the derby that this guy will be anything other than a synthetic horse either, Prado is a +, but that can only go so far, if he comes running somehow to beat me than god bless him, i just dont see it.

7th #10 Brave Victory 15-1: Some like this guy because of his closing kick in the Peter Pan, 3rd to charitable man, im not as enthused over it, the field was far from spectacular, while the finishing time was solid they set a 108.4 split, of course the speed was going to stop, of course gotta love zito at belmont, but remember Lion Heart, he could never finish off a race, dont see him getting the distance regarless of what they say. Had nothing for Big Drama or thisonesforphil two back, both quality horses but second tier in my opinion, another that ill let beat me.

6th #1 Chocolate Candy 10-1: If this race were in california on synthetic id be tempted to make him the choice but alas its not, has shown to be a closer on the synthetics but usually a closer to the pace type of closer which actually does set this up a little for him if he can be running in that 2nd flight, but his one effort on dirt even though it was a 5th place finish really left a lot to be desired, side with others.

5th #6 Charitable Man 3-1: May bite me big time, a lotta peep are liking him, im just not a believer yet, Im not thrilled with the caliber he has beaten, his effort two back made me want to puke, of course that was over synthetic nd his Peter Pan was all u could ask for and the whole slow pace scenario favors him, just looking he got that 100 figure in his last but like i mentioned with Brave Victory he was running 2nd behind a rabbit, gobbled him up first and took off, will look to do it again, just hoping for a bit more pressure from anyone, could easily spoil all my tickets but im not using on top.

4th #8 Flying Private 12-1: Resume doesnt look staggering, only 1 for 12 but has faced top flight competition over last three and improved dimensions in latest showing a closing kick, might not help a ton in a field full of them, one of the few that was gaining on rachel and birdman at the end, switches pilots but Leparaux is no slouch, the better Lukas half, still think it would take a remarkable effort to beat top 3.

3rd #2 Dunkirk 4-1: So far the hype hasnt lived up to 3.7 Million George Washingtons, its all been a waiting game but were not talking about the Green Monkey here this guy has talent its just a matter of getting all of the outside factors to help him, without that speed favoring run at gulfstream he may have beaten Quality Road nd he stumbled at the Derby, this big guy could come steamrolling late with his AP Indy pedigree, moves to Pletchers go to guy in Johnny V, would be no surprise, but i wanna see him beat someone credible first.

2nd #7 Mine that Bird 2-1: Calvin has officially stuck his foot in his mouth, as if he wasnt the one to beat to begin with now every jock out there will find a way to run their best way and still prevent him from any easy openings, in a field full of closers and the expected lackluster pace it just may be enough to keep him from getting there in time., would be a bit of shock for him not to hit the board but i thought that with Big Brown, will not endorse at 4-5 odds here, remember it has been a laxidaisical couple races where he just explodes but that said 3 races in 5 weeks is still demanding and it may be the excuse at the end of the day.

1st #4 Summer Bird 12-1: Loving this guy to death right now, had him picked 4th in the derby and ran a credible 6th at long odd under unknown jock who gave him a pretty poor ride over the slop, gets back to a fast track and has shown he can explode late as well, had the arkansas derby been longer its possible he would of gotten to both papa clem and old fashioned, the switch to Desormeuax here just makes me a total believer, he will get a better trip and the trainer believes he is prime for a big effort here, it will be the other Birdstone son that takes this jewel, the one that still has his nuts and can produce some more winners. The story just flashes through my head with headlines "Bird wins belmont, But not with Borel" "Desormeaux redeams in belmont" "Birdstone Baby Exacta" "Ice nd Summer Win the Money"

Freaking nice, ATP!!

I didn't even see where the hell Summer Bird came from. He was kind of middle of the pack for the entire race, but then stormed around the horses in front of him in the final stretch as if someone had injected his ass with NOS.

Great call. Glad I tailed it.
