Good day fellow gamblers! Excellent day for a wager or two!! For all of us action junkies, ESPN has 2 football games on today that my local books have lines on. We will skip the 1:00 est game and move on to the 4:00 game, 1-AA teams, Richmond @ N.Iowa.

I am looking for some input from any fans of these two teams. I will definitely be looking for weather reports, because the total is what has my attention.

Both of these teams have defenses that have held the opposition to the mid teens, but look who they played. The likes of Indiana St.,Illinois St.,Georgetown, VMI,Towson, you kind of get the picture. Both offenses are averaging 30-35 points a game. When I capped their best opponents, they gave up in the low 20s. Because of their decent offenses and their defense vs. better teams (for their schedule), I am leaning, strongly on the Over at 47.

What does everybody think on this matchup?

ATLSlim...am a Richmond Alum and thought I'd throw my two cents in. The Spiders are going for their first ever trip to the Championship. Having avenged the loss to defending champ App St.(only App ST. 2nd loss in last 44 home games) I think they are highly motivated to move on....this team is solid in all areas...and have strong senior leadership. Althought they lost Tim Hightower to the NFL last year, they still have Josh Vaughan who actually is one TD away from breaking Hightower's rushing TD record. He has rushed for over 100 yds in 6 of last 7 games.
Junior QB Eric Ward has been solid leading the Spiders and is 20-10 as a starter and 11-5 vs top 25 teams Defensively they thrive on creating TO's like they did vs App St. They are +23 in takeaways and has scored 138 pts off they turnovers. They have set a team record of 28 picks on the season.
They head to Iowa today to take on N. Iowa the number 2 seed(UR unranked seed). This will be the Spiders first game indoors.

Just some more info about Richmond for ya....the line I have is at Uof R -7.5 with O/U at 47. I like the Spiders to win but 7.5 is a suprisingly high number to me. Being played in Iowa and UNI a highter seed....I thought line would be in the range of -3 or so...The Books are giving Richmond lots of props for upsetting App St. I think most of public will take UNI & the pts here(although not sure how many joe pub actually bet on I-AA football..LOL. For me, I am teasing the game.

Richmond -1/Over 40.5

GL whatever you play and go Spiders!!

I was surprised UR was favored by that much on the road. My concern is a letdown after last weekend and the noise in the dome (Maine coach said they had 4 false starts 2 weeks ago, had very few all season). UR plays in the best 1AA conference (some may argue Southern, but both JMU and UR beat AppState this year....UR also won at Elon) so they are def more tested. True UNI did beat two CAA teams in the playoffs, but both those teams wouldn't have finished in the top 4 in the Southern half of the CAA (JMU, Villanova, UR, W&M). UR solid on both sides of the ball. A Edwards was banged up last week a little maybe, but UR still held them to like 40 yards rushing for the game or soemthing. I don't know much about UNI, so I'm gonna pass. 7.5 on the road seems like a lot.

Be on the look-out for a 2H play (if they offer them). UR wears down their opponents pounding the ball with Vaughan. They were 10-10 with EKU then outscored them 28-0 in the 2h. Last week it was 6-7 at half and they outscored app state 27-6 2h (+7 TO margin helped...both teams I believe are +20+ in TO margin).

Off to work at the first part of the doubleheader (VCU at UR, ESPNU).

GL today.

Now that the game has started, both offenses seem to be sleepwalking, very lethargic, no drives yet. I hope they are both 2nd half prfoducers. It is still only half way thru the 1st quarter, so I shouldn't be so impatient!! Good luck on our Over!! ATLSLIM

Mr. Huckel, you are more impatient than I am! We aren't at the end of the 1st half yet. Quick story, today I had Tenn. and Temple CBB Under 150. After the first half they had a total of 59 points, hell they needed 91 points, I was counting my money. They scored 101 in the 2nd half and kicked my ass!! 59 in one half , then101 (maybe more) in the second half!! Unreal!! We need 38 the 2nd half, stranger things have happened!! Good luck sir!!!
this one looks dead already
