2 Unit Special Play

Atlanta Hawks 3/11/2009 7:05 PM - (EST)
Spread -1½ -109 for Game

Spread just dropped from -2 at five dimes due to Williams being out for Atlanta, by my figures
Williams will not be that big of a factor. You have a perfect storm situation here, Utah just won
2 in a row on the road scoring over 100 points in each game. Atlanta won the last two at home scoring
under 100 in each game. Utah has the road exhaustion factor playing against it, Atlanta has a mini
home streak going. Atlanta also has the revenge motive since they lost embarrassingly to Utah in the
last match-up between the two teams 108-89. Look for Atlanta to bang away at Utah tonight.~~:<<

The Jazz are the best team in the NBA right now in my opinion. (Now that everyone is healthy that is). They will be tough the rest of the way and into the playoffs. +2 Seems to be good value here even with the back to back games. D-Will didn't have to play too hard last night against the Pacers and should be able to get lots of minutes tonight. Tough game to cap here, GL with your pick

Ty for the GL wishes... here is some insightful additional information on the game that NumberZ was kind enough to provide.

"Something tells me Atlanta may win this as well. In their last 2 games, they have put a stop to New Orleans 7 game win streak, and Detroit's 4 game win streak. Will they be able to do the same tonight against a surging Utah team that has won 12 straight? Perhaps, but in all likelihood this will be the hardest of the 3 games for them to win. What you do have working in your favor, is peculiar line movement in favor of Atlanta, the Jazz playing back to back road games, a solid home team in Atlanta etc. However there is 2 sides to every coin. Not too many franchises have enjoyed the type of domination the Jazz have, over the Atlanta Hawks. The Jazz have beat the Hawks, 18 times out of the 21 times that these 2 teams have met. Amazing if you think about it, an 18-3 record over 10 years or so, against one specific opponent. Basically what I am trying to say, is that historically the Jazz have had the Hawks number, so to speak. Take that fwiw. Also, the Hawks' last victory over Detroit was somewhat unimpressive, if you ignore Joe Johnson's performance. With his stats to the side, for a moment, the Hawks shot 35% as a team in that game, and no other player scored more than 14 points. Can they count on him putting up similar numbers against a Jazz team that has the size and speed, to hang with him, and contest his every shot? Time will tell, but I do not think that he alone can put them over the hump, the rest of the guys will need to play alot better for them to win. Also, M. Williams being out is a huge blow, his length would have provided this Hawks team with some much needed size against, a Jazz team that usually has the size advantage over most opponents they play. I have not decided if I will bet this game, or if I will pass on it, just yet. But I am leaning on the Hawks, just don't have that much confidence in the play. I hope this helps. GL with whatever you decide Spread proof..I'll be rooting for you.."

NumberZ believes Williams is a huge blow to Atlanta, but I believe he is not based on my players ratings. I had not considered player sizes though in my thought process. I still believe Atlanta is the way to go on this one.
