Anyone like Atlanta to get to Bedard tonight? I see this as great value taking Atlanta tonight. Even though this is the biggest favorite today on the board with the public on it 78%.

Atlanta counters back with Campillo who is a decent pitcher and I believe Atlanta at home will rock the last place Seatle tonight.

Even with the GM fired and a new coach can't help Seatle tonight. Bedard is not the same as last year and teh value of Atlanta at home at -131 is a steal.

Just have to wait to see the lineup before I pull the trigger on this game.

I agree. Im trying to bet same ammounts but its very hard for me not to pull the trigger and unload on the braves here. Mariners are jus "BAD" Braves will be happy to be home

I won't unload on this game. Just make it as a play like a medium play. It looks to good to be true to be a BIG play but I will take the chance with the Braves at home against the Mariners with a medium play.

It was Seattle who found Campillo in the Mexican League - they had high hopes for him but he blew out his arm in one of his first big league starts...he rehabbed with the M's and performed well post-surgery in the minors but was never given another serious shot...it was no surprise to perennially heartbroken m's fans when Atlanta gave him a shot and he blossomed (an ex-mariner all-star team could compete against any all-star team hehe)

Will be interesting tonight, I'm sure this one will mean a little something extra to Jorge...you could also look at it the other way - maybe the m's know where the smoke and mirror's are located and his hot start is due to having faced the National league much...

it also depends on which Erik Bedard shows up - if hes on hes as good as anyone (lots of cheap hr's allowed this yr though) and since the pressure of being a # 1 was removed (he proved he can't handle it) he has been pretty solid...he refuses to go over 100 pitches so if the Braves make him work it could be a long night

The M's were picked to win the west by SI and some on Baseball tonight...they are currently the worst team record-wise and, as one scout put it a few weeks ago "if you ever wanted to see team just waiting to lose, the Mariners are it"...Huge shakeups the past week (new GM, new Mgr, Ichiro back to right, new rookie catcher now getting the bulk of the time) so its really hard to read this team right now

Personally i think the move at catcher will be huge for the M's - if you look at Johjima's splits, the pitchers have a batting avg against of like 50 points higher when they are throwing to him than when they throw to someone else...Washburn has complained about him and Bedard no longer throws to him (you'll see Clement or Burke today)

You can look at this game in a number of ways....

Campillo against his former team the Mariners ....
Norton against his former the Mariners (he might not play but maybe he can provide insight)....

Campillo has been pitching well. Corky Miller usually catches him but he caught yesterday. But hopefully B Mac is catching tonight cause he tears up lefties and Corky is god awful at the plate.

I think Bedard pitches well tonight even though the Braves are capable of hitting lefties. I dont think they will bomb him but its probably not gonna take many runs to beat Seattle. If I read correctly he hasnt given up any HRs in his last 4 outings.

I can forsee a 5-3 type of game...I dont think this is as easy game that some may think. I almost think the under play is the best because if Seattle wins they wont blow the braves out and if the braves win they will be holding seattles number down. No shootouts here.

When I get game time weather and the ump I will make my decision...

Kinda like the Under here too.

Braves aren't as good against lefties since Chip and Teix turn around.
M's linueup is horrible, and taking away the DH can't help.
Bedard when he's on can be dominant.
Braves finally have a decent 9th inning option now with Gonzalez.

Actually...The Braves are not that good against Lefties (only Chipper bats well against them). Kelly Johnson is the second best on the team and actually bats pretty well against LHP, even though he's a Lefty himself. But Seattle is a pretty crappy team.

The only Twist in this is Bedard is actually worse against Lefties. So statistics might have to be recipricated.

If you really look at it they are only about 5 or 6 percentage points better against righties then lefties. And thats both overall and at home. And McCann (.361) is the 2nd best hitter against lefties on the braves not Johnson (.316). Anyway, I expect Bedard to put up some sort of fight tonight because if you watch the Braves they seem to be able to win against pitchers that one may think they would have trouble with (J Santana, R Johnson) and struggle against pitchers you would think they would kill.

I'm a Braves fan but im a realest. The Braves have lost 4 of their last 7 at home..Yes they were good teams but you also gotta look at the other side of things to get the whole story.
