[h=1]Packers’ Ha Ha Clinton-Dix sends a strong message to police[/h][h=2]By Bryan Chai on August 21, 2017 at 1:30pm[/h]Bryan Chai
This is certainly refreshing. Maybe it’s something about Green Bay, Wisconsin, that allows the players and coaches there to buck the growing trend of disrespect in the NFL.
Green Bay Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix posted an image to Twitter on Saturday showing off the very strong message that he’s been sending to the police officers of America
The Packers star has been honoring fallen police officers by writing their names on his football cleats. It’s a simple, yet very powerful, message.
He just added the names of Kissimmee, Florida, police Sgt. Richard “Sam” Howard and Officer Matthew Baxter, who were shot and killed last week.
Clinton-Dix is a shining example of someone who is respectfully advocating for political change.
He doesn’t kneel or sit during the national anthem. He doesn’t spout off inflammatory rhetoric. He doesn’t openly engage in racial identity politics.
It’s a breath of fresh air in an NFL where players like Michael Bennett, Marshawn Lynch and Colin Kaepernick think that the best time to make a political statement is during the recital of the national anthem.
And make no mistake, Clinton-Dix is definitely an advocate for social change. A cursory glance at his Twitter account shows several posts pushing for criminal justice reform and defending the rights of players like Lynch and Bennett to speak their minds in a free country.
But he also takes time to honor and respect the brave men and women who protect and serve this country.

He’s actually attempting to expand his knowledge of the subject, as opposed to regurgitating cliched talking points.
Case in point, he recently took an unpaid internship under a Brown County Circuit Court judge in Wisconsin. He posted some of his experiences to his Instagram account.
Ultimately, it comes down to something very simple.
Regardless of how you feel about his political commentary, Clinton-Dix is going about affecting social change the right way.
He’s pushing for change that he genuinely believes in while honoring and respecting all those who protect and serve this country.
And Clinton-Dix is doing all of this without kneeling or sitting during the national anthem.
