Sports betting history of lines

Is there a way to get the trend or changes of the lines throughout a day? id like to know for instance what a specific baseball line was at 4:17 today. I have many instances that id like to do this. thanks.

First of all, welcome to the RX. What you are asking for is line history which is normally provided by a line service such as SportsOptions which is one of our sponsors. The line is updated every time there is line movement and not necessarily like your example.

If you look on the toolbar above you will see a tab for SportsOptions, however, you will also see a tab for Free Odds which are provided to our site slightly delayed by SportsOptions. If you click on the Free Odds tab and click on MLB, for example, you will see the current odds on all the games. If you put your cursor over any particular game line from one of the sportsbooks and left double click, another window will open and you can see the opening lines as well as the line movements throughout the day. Remember, pick any book, scroll down to the game you are interested in and click on the line. For instance, 5Dimes, SF/Pitt & 120/+110. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Why don't I have the Private message feature? I searched and found no answers. Thanks

Old Man Ted,

With the great acomplishment by the Chicago White Sox pitcher yesterday of throwing a perfect game do you think any of the starting rotation from the Giants could rise to the occassion sometime this year or in the future and repeat the feat. Those perfect games are few and far between, but San Fransico has the talent on the mound and with a few breaks could we as sports fans maybe see one from the Giants?

There have only been 18 perfect games in the history of baseball meaning a lot of Hall Of Fame pitchers never accomplished that rarity. A perfect game is very difficult because either a walk or an error (i.e. Jonathan Sanchez's no-hitter) can end it. Lincecum and Cain both have the ability but like any other pitcher will need some luck to accomplish such a masterpiece. We can only hope!

That's a thrill I have never had the pleasure to see live. That's great. I can only imagine the hysteria in the stands. Can't blame him for still not being able to shake it. That is their profession and to pitch a perfect game is the pinnacle of an individual's career. Sports provide so many great individual performances and the unexpected. It is uncensored reality.

Hey ted I am a noobie to the forum but I have been betting sports since last year. I have a problem figuring out how much to bet and how many games. I might put 200 on two games and then 400 on another I like more. Two hit and the other flops so I just pay juice. Also, how many plays should u have on a given day? Is 5 too much? If you really like a game should you just throw it all down and pray? Just curious what your system was. Thanks

First of all welcome to the RX. As to your question, I have been in this business for 38 years and over that time have been able to develop the knowledge to differentiate strength of plays so I am able to vary the size of my plays. It takes time and experience to be successful at varying the amount of your wager. You have stated that you have been betting for about one year. With that in mind, I highly recommend that you stay with flat betting for awhile, i.e wager the same amount on each play no matter if you feel one play is better then the other. When you're new at this, it is easy to get caught up and chase losing plays by doubling up. Flat betting takes the amount out of the equation and just allows you to pick winners which is difficult enough to do. Never "throw it all down and pray". This business is a marathon and not a sprint. Think long term. As to the number of plays, I never start a day with any given number. I simply handicap the card for each sport that I may consider wagering on and bet on those that I feeling strongly about. Usually my number of wagers falls somewhere between 1 and 10 for the day with the fewer plays being much more common on a day in and day out basis. You asked if 5 is too many and my answer would be no, provided you manage your money properly and don't have too much of your bankroll at risk with your total number of plays. Hope this helps you somewhat. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask and best of luck to you.

Animated Avatar?

OMT, On a couple of occasions since joining the RX, I have attempted
to change my avatar and both times I got this response:

You may not upload animated images.
I know others have animated avatars here, Is there an RX rule on this?
Thanks
