That’s in Pattaya and Jom Tien….Bangkok is more expensive…

I looked on AirBnB that seems unreal. Someone could live on $1000 a month there fairly easy it seems. Why is health insurance?

Damn, I might consider this.

I need more information on how it works. Does one need a visa to live there for an extended period? I’m slowly starting a gig that I can work from Any where.

From what I understand, you can get a retirement visa if you are 50 years old and you either have to deposit 25k in a Thai bank or show proof of income of about 2k. Otherwise, you can go there on a 3 month visa and there are ways to get it renewed. I'm not really sure how that works tho. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield and they actually cover in Thailand. Only in Bangkok tho. You might want to call your insurance and see if they have coverage overseas. Even if they don't, health insurance isn't as crazy as it is here.

Thanks for the info. I’m not quite 50 but I want to do this for at least 3 months!

I see that they are letting people in from the US without having to quarantine. That's awesome. VD, how do you get your US sports there?

That's what I'm going to do after I retire. I'll fly over some time around this time of year and stay for a month and hang out with Viejo. He and I will play backgammon on the beach every day and harrass the local women.
:D
j/k about the "hanging out" part VD. I do plan to spend a month there though.
