As the Kobe case is about to die down, have married athletes learned their lessons?

From my own personal experience, I was hit day after day after day by a high profile player on the Miami Dolphins. This happened only months after Kobe's life was ruined by a money grabbing bitch. I asked the guy why he would even take a chance with a person like me being married with kids, and he said he couldnt help himself. It really is amazing that these athletes will jeopordize everything for one night of pleasure with a woman that they hardly know. I would have thought that athletes would have learned from the Kobe situation, but obviously in my opinion they have not.

The real question is whether American society has learned its lesson or not. It's clear that 95% of straight men and 90% of decent-looking straight women side with Kobe. It's mainly the feminists (who are almost never decent-looking) the old battleaxes, the prudes and some gays who are against him.

Real men will be real men, and that means having sex with a variety of cute women. Professional sports has a lot of real men in it (with money) and so it's no wonder they are under the spotlight. If these guys ever "learn" not to be themselves, America will implode on itself and fail to be a superpower. It's already heading in that direction unfortunately and feminism has a lot to do with it.

Not sure I follow your logic, Darryl. You're saying that America is a superpower, because its men screw a lot of different women? And that we must keep this up, or we will ruin ourselves? What's that about? I don't think Kobe raped that girl, but that doesn't mean that what he did was right.

lol illini - i think his argument is that if real men did not sleep with various women, our country would turn into one full of homosexuals and we would not be able to defend our superpower status...

Quite simply No. And things will get worse before better. Matter of fact, I am about to lose faith that we have any hope of getting better ever. Self implosion is destiny. It is just a matter of when.

simply put - NO!

athletes think they are "bullet-proof" and invincable. they think they can "bag" any woman regardless of whether they are married - or not.

how many athletes have you read about who cheat(ed) on their wife - despite the fact their wife is smoking hot as is.

when len bias died a drug related death - people thought that would send a signal to athletes to stop doing drugs - it didn't. when magic johnson announced he had HIV - people thought it would send a signal to athletes to stop screwing around - it didn't.

as long as athletes think they are "above the law" they will continue to do things they shouldn't. even if kobe should be convicted (he won't - but if he is) it won't stop athletes at all.

Elvira,

Just between us, who was the deranged athlete on the Miami Dolphins that approached you, lol?

While it doesn't surprise me that someone would want to hit on you, i can't understand why some WOMEN subject themselves to it, knowing that they are just being used...

for these women - having sex with an athlete has the potential of turning into "winning the lottery." if she gets pregnant she will get all sorts of $$$$$$$$$ for a LONG time. there is also a chance this could turn into a LTR - and in thatcase - the woman REALLY has hit the lottery - until he dumps her for someone else. it is also physical - these athletes have great bodies and the women see these bodies and "gotta get some" of him - and since she probably has a killer body, too - you get 2 people with nothing but physical attraction who only want to merge those 2 bodies - and do!

Illini, Identity and Scarlett,

Sorry if I skipped a few steps in the analysis -- the idea is that when men's sex drive tends to zero, so does their aggression levels and therefore their ability and willingness to defend their nation.

I did not mean to imply that rape is a good thing, only polygamy. I assume Kobe did not rape the girl.

I assume Kobe did rape the girl. I also assume Ted Bundy was much more handsome than Kobe to most girls.

Well age certainly diminishes these things. Guess a nation of old farts would have a hard time defending itself then, Viagra or no viagra.

They didn't learn after Magic contacted AIDS, why would they learn now?

ID,

I suppose the intensity of gay sex drives are probably similar to straight sex drives, but I think the former type correlates negatively with aggression. If the armed forces of my country consisted only of gays I would not feel very secure that's for sure.

Top level athletes are coddled and catered to from the time they are discovered, often times as young as 8 years old. One only needs to go to some summer AAU and "select" games to learn that these athletes are given whatever they want. Therefore, there is no reason to expect that they should not get what they want and those without strong support in family and business associates never learn that lesson. Sadly, the NBA and other professional leagues become full of man-children who often are helpless to know right from wrong.

Fair Warning,
don't forget Magic "attained" the HIV virus, in his own words.

Darryl Parsons, that homophobia is creeping through. You'd be surprised at the number of top-level boxers, wrestlers and soldiers who are gay, but feel the need to hide it.

A simple question deserves a simple answer.
"As the Kobe case is about to die down, have married athletes learned their lessons?"
NO
But this does not apply only for athletes, applies for every single married person. Women have become more sexually agressive and they are also being unfaithfull, and men...well... men (enough said).

As for Darryl's theory...
