A Major League Baseball prospect was shot in the head and critically wounded during a drive-by shooting early Friday in Yonkers, authorities said.

Michael Nolan, 23, was shot twice while standing with a group of friends in a parking lot of a Burger King on Central Ave. just after 12:30 a.m.


Police believe the shooting may be related to an argument that developed following a drag race Wednesday night. “This is not a random shooting,” Yonkers Police Chief Charles Garner said.
Nolan attended Oklahoma City University and was drafted by the Oakland A’s in the 18th round of the 2014 amateur draft, his parents said. He was a member of the club’s rookie league team in Phoenix.


“Mike’s not doing good, he’s not … he has a bullet in the head,” Nolan’s father, Jimmy Nolan, told WCBS. “Me and my wife gotta make decisions.”


“He’s a good kid,” Jimmy Nolan said. “He was drafted by the Oakland A’s. He had a full ride to college.”

Agree with the first statement. Second statement I do not. Guns don't kill people.....people do. Here in Laredo just last month a man ran over 5 people and killed 3 walking along on a sidewalk. His target was a lady he had an argument with. The blanket statement "no guns, no murder" is Bullshit.
