.... and ironically enough those are the posters that don't show up in these "look at me I'm a professional gambler, are you jealous." threads.

Class is walking the walk and not trying to convince somebody else you're gods gift to this forum.

What is the correllation between your expectation of social behavior and somebody's profession? You should work at a carnival.

I myself have been doing this amoung other gambling related things sinse way back in the late 60's. I also try my very best to NOT let outsiders know anything about my business. Have found the less they know the better off i am.
The ones that do know of my business say they have No problems with it, its the ones that "think" they know my business that look down thier nose at me sometimes.
HAve learned also that sometimes its much better to stay out of sight, and out of ther minds.

Doing it since the 60's and have as much integrity as a....... forget it.:bigfinger

I also can say you have perfected the stay out of sight thing.

The problem with being a professional gambler is simple. Your clients for the most part, think there is some magical connection you have to someone shaving points, but those thoughts are spread by the not-so-professional gamblers, that have inside info, have scouts at the game, yet are working out of a telephone booth! The reality is it takes a minimum of 12 hours a day, but for me it isn't like work, because I enjoy every moment of it. There are 2 types of clients, a group that will never win, no matter what percentage you hit! (See all the above reasons why). They are easy to identify. They call and immediately want to know what percentage you hit. The second group, will win as long as we win! They are also easy to identify. They call and could care less about your percentage, they want to know your ROI (return on investment). They will do nothing but play everything you got, because they don't ever get involved with picking any other games, they could care less. The first group will always get involved with picking other games! That guy will ultimately lose, maybe not in the season, but in the end, and their will be an end, or reloading the account, and ultimately an end. WHY? Because he has a passion for sports, loves watching his team win/lose. WHY DOES THE OTHER GUY WIN? He could care less about sports, doesn't even watch the games, just checks his ROI. That guy is a client forever to a good capper, the other guy will run from one to the other, but no matter how good you do, he will in the end lose!

You can't tell anyone. They will either think your lying, a degerate in denial, or hiding some other illigal occupation.

I just tell people I sold my previous business. I am now retired and like to dabble in stock trades to explain my lack of job and availabilty to play golf every day.

That usually is the case 99.9 % of the time. Even the people on this site that claim to be ''pro gamblers'' are full of it and we all know it.
