Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston returned to practice for the first time since injuring his knee in a Nov. 29 game against the Bills. He hasn't been ruled out of Sunday's final regular season game against the Raiders and his appearance on the practice field bodes well for his chances of playing in the postseason.

Texans outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney and receiver Cecil Shorts didn't practice, as expected. They will both be out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Shorts spent the first four seasons of his career with the Jaguars.

Redskins tackle Trent Williams did not practice Friday and remains a game-time decision, though it's hard to imagine him playing after missing two of the three practices this week. Coach Jay Gruden said there's probably not a lot of benefit to Williams playing Sunday at Dallas. "There's a chance he won't dress," Gruden said. ‘We just wanted to keep him off today; we're on the turf so we don't want to get some unnecessary pounding on [his knee] and we'll see how he's doing."

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said corner Quinton Dunbar's quad has improved every day, with increasing mobility. Gruden said Dunbar had a better day of work than he did Wednesday. "I'm hoping with a few more extra days of rest he'll be ready to roll next week," Gruden said. "It's a concern because it's a pulled muscle. We've had some tough deals with those."

The Vikings again appear likely to be without nose tackle Linval Joseph on Sunday night because of a foot injury. Adrian Peterson is probable, as are defensive linemen Everson Griffen and Sharrif Floyd.

Charles James says he didn't really think about the fracture in his foot. He knew it was going to break eventually and wanted to play as much as he could until then. He hopes to watch Sunday's game from the stadium. They won't let him on the sideline on his crutches.

For now, the Packers listed starting left tackle David Bakhtiari (ankle) as questionable for Sunday night's game against the Vikings, but it's hardly a final designation. "He will probably do some work tomorrow but for sure Sunday," coach Mike McCarthy said. "With it being a night game, we'll have some workouts Sunday." Bakhtiari was one of five players listed as questionable. Here's the full injury report:

Jim Tomsula said Friday he did not "have an update" on when or whether a decision to activate rookie running back Mike Davis off the short-term IR would be made. The Niners placed Shaun Draughn on season-ending IR earlier this week and the only healthy running backs they have are Jarryd Hayne, Kendall Gaskins and DuJuan Harris. Davis, who suffered a broken left hand on Nov. 1, has 24 rushing yards on 25 carries.

Seahawks left tackle Russell Okung (calf) is doubtful and right guard J.R. Sweezy (concussion) is out for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Alvin Bailey is expected to fill in for Okung, and rookie Mark Glowinski could get his first career start for Sweezy. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, strong safety Kam Chancellor (pelvis) is questionable.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher tells reporters in Napa Valley that RB Todd Gurley (foot) will be listed as doubtful on Friday's injury report. According to team Twitter account, Fisher said "We're thinking about the long-term picture." Writing was on the wall after Gurley sat out practice this week and Rams promoted RB Malcolm Brown from practice squad on Thursday. Tre Mason and Benny Cunningham likely to get the bulk of the work for Rams against San Francisco on Sunday, barring major and surprising change in Gurley's status.
