Jayson Stark says.......Source says the Cubs have been told that Hal Steinbrenner has signed off on trading Chapman so no obstacles left to block 4-for-1 deal.

Warren is garbage, McKinney's stock has really been sliding lately. Crawford kind of an unknown.

Torres is a stud though. That was an overpay unless this is a sign and trade.

Torres not a total stud.
Not even a top 25 prospect. Braves have 2 middle infielders rated ahead of him.
Great trade for the Cubs. This bumps all
the other relievers down a slot making the entire pen better assuming everyone adjust well to their new role

Torres cracks top 25 on some lists and projects to move into the top 10 by next year. He is a stud.

Yeah we'll see how Rondon adjusts to being setup man. If he can do that successfully, and Cubs get Chapman extended, it is a good move IMO.

Do they still look for a lefty out of the pen? The playoffs are so magnified and it's so much matchup stuff.....you need that situational lefty to get out Belt, Harper, Murphy types that they will probably face. Obviously the 9th isn't a problem now with Chapman but thinking 6/7/8 innings. Can Wood handle that job?

Cubs also recently added Mike Montgomery, another middle relief lefty.

Chapman in 9th
Rondon in 8th
Strop in 7th

will be the formula.

As for middle relief, Edwards and Nathan from the R and Wood, Richard, Montgomery from the L.

Don't really need another lefty. I'd be surprised if any more moves are made, I think this was the big money shot.

Someone has to go down to clear a roster spot for Chapman, I'm guessing Grimm.

The biggest negitive on this trade is Chapman is Justin Cruise favorite baseball player and this read could result in a Cubs wining the World Series prediction
