Arod will be remembered for slapping at
Arroyo on his way down the first-base line in the eighth inning of Game 6, not only getting called out in the process, but, worse, keeping
Jeter out of scoring position. Jeter would have at least made second on the play -- the Yankees trailed 4-2 at the time with just one out

well then we get into philosophy.

if he was staring at a runner on 2nd maybe fate would have been different

could have changed the whole complexion of the inning

u think he would have struck out no matter what

who the hell really knows

instead of a runner on 2nd, its runner on first

trust me that play is about 25th on the list of why the yankees lost the series.

the olerud injury is the biggest reason the yankees lost. putting tony clark in changed everything for them.

how about gordon and rivera going a million innings in the regular season and getting slapped around in the playoffs as a result?

and he was one of the main reasons they got there.

short term memories.
No one really gives a crap how they got there, fans take the "what have you done for me lately approach". Take Damon as an example, he was invisible the first 5 games and useless (in my opinion), but now after his performance in Game 7 do you think any of the Bosox fans care that he was something like 2-40 in games 1-5?

Holy is correct in that batters adjust according to situations, Jeter on 2nd is a different situation.
