Armed attacker injures at least 18 people, 4 seriously, on train in Germany

An attacker armed with an ax and knife injured four people -- three seriously -- on a German train car this evening, a spokesperson for the Würzburg police said in a statement.
He was shot while trying to flee police. The motive for the attack, the attacker's nationality, and his current condition were unknown.
The incident occurred on a local train heading towards Würzburg at Heidingsfeld, in Bavaria, the spokesman confirmed to ABC News.
The three injured are in serious condition, one is less serious, and 14 others were being treated for shock, according to the spokesman.

All the attacks in rapid succession is probably not the worst thing for the world in the long-term. It really opens the eyes of the issues at hand. Whereas attacks sporadically don't necessarily move the needle of public opinion as much, especially if you are far removed from the violence and chaos.
