Are We Respectful Enough Towards Newer Posters?

I was talking about this with a friend who seemed to think we may not be respecftul enough towards newer posters...

For example, he suggested that if someone asked a question about what laying 10 cent juice means, that they might get shot down...

Is this the case? If so, how can we encourage newbies to not be afraid to ask ANY question?

Thanks In Advance,

THE SHRINK

I think very often some of our posting body forgets that they are sharper than the average sportsman and forget where they came from.

We should always try to help new posters with our learnings and show them the respect we would like to get. I still have lots to learn and have the RX to thank for many of my lessons thus far.

I think the newbie forum is pretty friendly and upon inspection to a new poster looks inviting. Given the topics of the posts, and the good responses. And in the other forums, I think they get taken serious enough. There has been a good steady flo of new posters, so JMHO I dont think its an issue.

But, this is another reason why its good to put the # posts in black. you dont want to give people the impression its some huge factor in making a post.

LOL-What ever happened to the old adage...no question is a stupid question?

The problem with newbies is they sometimes are assumed to be ghosts and thats a shame...

SHRINK,

When we talk of multipe "outs", we are referring to having several sportbook accounts so that a player can try to fine the best line and juice when looking to make a bet. The best lines and vig are key to us.

After that chewing out you gave me earlier Shrink, the question should instead be, "Are We Respectful Enough Towards VETERAN Posters?!"

SHRINK..................you asking this question made me laugh..

you, yes you... are the most likely poster (and a moderator at that) to flame a new poster for asking a question or giving an opinion on a sportsbook, any question or comment that you dont like is sure to result in your condemming the poster.....

use some common sense, newbies asking questions about gambling in general ie. juice, types of wagers, different books, ect....
are most likely seeking a genuine response.....

a newbie asking for a local out or credit....wanting posters to e-mail him.......they dont deserve any respect, because they have other motives in mind...imo

When I see a brand new poster I will try to give him the benefit of the doubt to a certain extent. Natrually 1st timers who come in and immediately flame another poster or sportbook have an agenda and are treated accordingly. In other words no welcome to the Rx. feel free to contact any of the mods for help etc. Then there are the newbie promo posters, obvious and easy to identify. Depending on the post usually either sent to site promotions, or have url's edited and left offshore. Then you have your banned posters ghosting back in with the "Eddie Haskell" routine, Oh what a nice site, how smart all you great gamblers are ad nauseam, sooner or later they get themselves banned again. Then there are legitimate newbies, I know all the mods will try to help these posters in anyway possible. Depending on the question different mods or posters usually respond. I for example don't have a lot of experience with English sportbooks and rarely comment on them. Once in a while we get long time lurkers who for one reason or another decide to register, as a rule they are well informed and fit right in immediately.

wil.
