Are these types of parlays profitable??

I have a buddy who bets with Asian bookies who offer some weird type of parlays i've never heard of before. Wondering if these offers are profitable.

The one he's told me about that he uses often is a 3-team parlay.

On a $100 3-teamer.

if he goes 3-0 he wins $900.

If he goes 2-1 he still wins $60

If he goes 1-2 or 0-3 he loses $360


Is this some weird Asian type bet? or is this just a 3-team reverse which i've never heard of before?

It looks like a round robin parlay. If you pick three teams, they set you up with three two-team parlays:

A x B
B x C
A x C

most offshore books take these

Not at those prices. Three parlays would pay 780.

sounds like a 3 team IR (or action reverse) round robin.

They are dicking him on the payoff though on winners and giving him better odds on the losers. He should be paid
3-0 12-1 or 1200
2-1 +160 on 100 play
1-2 -460
0-3 -660

books love guys who play these kind of plays. they love anyone who plays parlays in general. they are getting you to pay double juice on your losers. If you get hot you can make a nice chunk of change. but if we only knew when we would be hot and or cold.

Its a round robin playing $120 per parlay, he is just getting paid worse than off shore places. You can see he lose 360 if he goes 1-2 or 0-3. Offshore would pay better on 3-0 or 2-1
