great way to mess up there team for years.

The Wizards have offered him a six-year, $127 million offer.

Better then letting him leave and get nothing in return...

I wish they did a sign and trade myself.

he may play selfish ball, but his name itself puts bodies in those seats. He leaves and there will be a big drop in interest.

To me, that would have been the best thing to do. Try to get Monta Ellis and ship his ass back to Golden State.

you cannot build around a guy like arenas... you gotta let him walk even if it means you get nothing in return... this will be a huge mess and i like the guy.

Why not let him walk and use the money on someone else?

golden state wouldn't let monta go for anything/anyone

Yeah I kina figure that but it would be worth a try. Jamison is the player they needed to keep IMO. Most underrated player in the league. Before his new contract, Washington was getting him for cheap.

Arenas, who flew to Asia Tuesday for a promotional tour with Adidas and will not return to the United States for two weeks, said he is strongly considering whether to accept the offer.

He said he is mulling over whether to meet the Wizards' request that he settle for less money to help give Washington greater financial flexibility for signing additional players, this year or in the future. Arenas would not say how much less he might take. That amount would be determined in part by the new salary cap and luxury tax thresholds that will be released by the NBA next week. Until then, neither Arenas nor the Wizards would be able to pin down specific contract figures.

The wizards are playing this well actually.
They offered Arenas the max, but also told him that if he wants to take less, they could use that money to improve the team.
Basically, Arenas could be greedy, take all the money and the team won't have much room to get better, or he could take a little less and they can try to improve and win it all.

But Arenas is so full of crap in my opinion. He stated out loud that he will take less money to keep Jamison. So sign the less money deal Arenas dont fake now.
