My cousin is a Police Detective. The next time I see him, I will ask what the corrrect ratio is. I know this, somebody is getting booked right now.

some Googling will get you a result.

There is just no way that 10% of americans are incarcerated on a daily basis.

A police detective in XYZ city shouldn't know the status of our current Department of Corrections statistics.

I'm quite sure that highly educated people with 6 figure incomes are less tattooed overall than poor people.

I'm sure that not even 10% of Detroit is in jail on any given night (maybe 3% ?)....but 90% should be !

Picture yourself on trial for a serious felony....

Do you want your defense attorney to have tats on his neck, hands, face, head ?

do you want your dentist to have "LOVE" tattoed on his knuckle segments ?

A career criminal is stupid to have tats, as well.....real easy to track that stuff.

Tattoos are correlated with low income

I also believe that the more stickers on a car correlate to a lower intelligence of the driver. I bet people with tattoos also have bumper stickers on their car.

Thinking about 21-30 year olds, I would say that 2 out of every 3 people I know have tats....

but they don't put them on the bumper....they put them on the painted surfaces of their car.

Number of inmates. 1920 to 2006.[1][2] (absolute numbers) General US population grew 2.8 times in the same period. The number of inmates increased more than 20 times.

Inmates held in custody in state or federal prisons or in local jails, December 31, 2000, and 2009–2010.[6]

Incarceration in the United States is one of the main forms of punishment and/or rehabilitation for the commission of felony and other offenses. The United States has the highest documented incarceration rate in the world. At year-end 2009 it was 743 adults incarcerated per 100,000 population.[4][7][8][9][10]
According to the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) 2,266,800 adults were incarcerated in U.S. federal and state prisons, and county jails at year-end 2010 — about 0.7% of adults in the U.S. resident population. [7] Additionally, 4,933,667 adults at year-end 2009 were on probation or on parole.[4] In total, 7,225,800 adults were under correctional supervision (probation, parole, jail, or prison) in 2009 — about 3.1% of adults in the U.S. resident population.[3][4][11]
In addition, there were 70,792 juveniles in juvenile detention in 2010.[12]

i would doubt it, as he stated before he considers it "low class." in some regards, he's right. mine are only seen if i have my shirt off, which i won't in a professional setting.

nope. I wouldn't accept one for free from the Picasso of tattoo artists. I hate needles for one thing. I couldn't really remove the tattoo and sell it on ebay, could I ?

I find tattoos very interesting to look at and an art form. I really can admire the work. I think it is fine for a man, esp. a blue collar guy. It's just not me. When I was a young man , I worked construction with a guy that had his ex-wife's name tattooed on his bicep....he was broke paying alimony and such.....that gave me pause as to ever getting one.

I believe most people would regret at least some of their body art in time.

A woman should keep it really low-key....maybe a small one on a (__*__) cheek or lower breast that doesn't show in public.

I do find some to be tasteful as well. Just not for me. I've had the same haircut for the last 15 years. Very conservative.
