From what I have recently been told many many employess at offshore stores have serious drug problems. Having dealt with drug problems in my own family I know this is a huge problem.

I guess that is the reason many people go to work at these places anyway-because drugs are easily obtainable.

I wonder how much money this cost the offshore indusrty overall?

Not sure about the extent in the offshore world but drugs are a problem in general.

I doubt drugs are any more prevalent among offshore employees then they are in almost every business in the United States.

although...I have myself been on the phone with clerks who sound like they did just put down the crack pipe..."uhhhh is that the Steelers in Baseball or Football"

Agree with Judge way over exaggerated. can't speak for all outfits but most of the successful ones would relize the problem and address it quickly. Offshore books are no different from any other business if your work suffers from the life style you lead you will be let go quickly. the top notch books did not get where their at by letting cokeheads and other addicts operate their business

Good Point. A Good Manager Will Stem A Drug Problem At An Offshore Company Just As Fast As At A Us-based One.

Fine Johnny then why did you ask? If your so concerned let us know who the "several outfits" your speaking of so we can all pull our money out. I for one would not want a balance at an outfit that condoned drug use to the point where it's a problem. As I stated before the SUCCESSFUL outfits would not allow addicts to operate their business

i think that about 70% of all clerks do some kind of drug, i know i can get ANY drug i want without stepping out of the office. It was a problem years back, now owners are like "as long as i dont catch you and you dont fvck up at work, i dont care", the problem is that you cant make a drug test cause you'll run out of employees

Same philosophy at most businesses I guess. why should any Owner/operator be concerned with what an employee does with his free time. I could really give a *CENSOR**CENSOR**CENSOR**CENSOR* if a linesguy likes to get baked now and then or even likes a line or two here and there. Be on time, get your work done promptly, and do the job your required to do and it's all good.

If your planning on doing a case study I suggest the restaurant/bar industry, talk about an industry with a drug problem:drink:
