The fate of equine superstar Sea The Stars in Sunday's Arc could spark one of the biggest betting exchange gambles in racing history.
Betfair reckon the previous high of over £6million on Kauto Star in the 2008 Gold Cup will be under threat. A field of around 20 could line up at Longchamp but the race revolves around one horse, the John Oxx-trained colt with a perfect five from five record in Group One races this season.

Trading on Betfair at a shade of odds on and without an obvious main rival, Mick Kinane's mount has become the ideal betting exchange commodity. Supporters see a colt who stands out a mile on form, but layers will hope a long campaign finally catches up with him. That split opinion could see furious trading.
Betfair's Tony Calvin said: 'The biggest traded race in Betfair history was the 10,345,256 matched in the first Kauto Star-Denman meeting in the 2008 Cheltenham Gold Cup, where that pair combined accounted for over 90 per cent of the trade. 'Kauto Star attracted a record 6,141,882 in the win market alone (when second to his great rival).
'Given the high-profile nature of Sunday's race, the superstar status of Sea The Stars, and his odds-on price, it is possible that he could become the most traded horse ever on the exchange.'
Betfair predict 80 per cent of their Arc business could revolve around the favourite. That percentage will fall among the conventional bookmakers with Coral spokesman Dave Stevens predicting 50 per cent.
Stevens said: 'He'll appeal to the big hitters and will be the weekend banker in a lot of accumulators, the equivalent of Manchester United on the football coupon.
'But his presence has also created plenty of each-way options with some good horses trading at big prices, like Youmzain, second for the last two years and 25-1.'
