None of this happens if Brandon Roy doesn't try a layup with 14 seconds left. The Blazers took it out of bounds with 24.4 left in the qtr. They're supposed to hold for 1 shot. Roy decides to drive with 15 seconds left and misses, leading to the whole sequence.

clear path clothes line

guy goes off in a stretcher

pretty clean

I don't think it was a dirty play. He got hand and ball with the hard swipe and a little piece of his head with his upper arm that knocked him off balance.

clothes line? That's going too far with it...

He clearly made a play for the ball, and he barely skimmed the top of his head enough to knock him off balance in the air...

He didn't let him get the easy basket, it was a clean hard foul but the fall made it look dirty. Thats the way basketball is, when you get in the air even a clean play can result in a dirty result.

Love how ESPN is saying Ariza should've just let Fernandez lay it in because he was so high up in the air.

So basically anytime a player flies airborne, don't contest, right? ROFL @ the morons and Blazer nuthuggers.

It's ironic because Ariza has been on the receiving end of these kinds of fouls on countless occasions, and he couldn't even draw a Flagrant 1. It's not Ariza's fault that Fernandez flew like a ragdoll.

The real blame goes to Fernandez for trying to p!ss on Ariza. Barkley has always said that if you get disrespected like that, you gotta knock them on their ass.

And these commentators are AWFUL. I always took Laker commentators for granted, but when I see commentators for other teams, WOW. Just WOW at the ignorance. I don't think I've ever heard Stu Lantz say somebody tried to injure another player on purpose. He always gives basketball players - Laker or not - the benefit of the doubt.

A play that comes to mind, is when Granger held onto Ariza's legs, when Ariza went airborne. Granger may have had malice on his mind, but the Laker commentators said, "I'm sure the young man didn't mean to do that." But these Portland homers are obscene.

This was far from a dirty play. Unecessary? YES, but was definately not a dirty play. Watch the fucking replay and you'll see he was clearly going for the ball.

Move along and spell the guys god damn name right if you want any credibility.
