Leave it to a looney, and this is the type of reasoning you get. He cites a poll and concludes Americans are happy with the direction of the country.
Of course, once the Americans realize the economy did not collapse and the sky is not falling, they're going to be more optimistic about the direction of the country. The POTUS just goes along for the ride. In some cases, he says everything he can to ruin their spirits so he may benefit from the perception that he saved their pathetic lives.
