i think too yrs ago when there was the 3 major networks a show like this did well with good guests, now when you have so many channels you can choose from these type of shows and they just dont add up any longer.Much better option on many channels in that time spot each nite now

I don't think Fallon is funny but I think he is funnier than Leno. Honestly, I think he is a good dude and one of the more respectful hosts so I wish him the best.

I can see Jimmy Kimmel quickly taking over the number one late night slot.

Great comment, Way to much is made of The Tonight Show, When Carson had it, he had huge audiences tuning in, now people are busy watching other channels or surfing the web. I am never up that late, but the few times I've tuned into Fallon he sucked. I for one won't be watching..

If Carson was on now he'd get low ratings as well. People have more than 3 channels now. I think most of these shows are boring. I only watch a few highlight clips online if I want to see anything. They're just all too predictable with their monologue, a little bit they do and then the boring guest comes in then a musical act.

It's a different time now than when Johnny Carson was on. If Fallon was the host back in Carson's day, he may have had great ratings too.
