Great episode!!!!!!!!Any theories on who died and why Jack regrets leaving the island?My theory: I think when Ben warned Jack that he would also be killing his own people as he had done himself (with poison gas), he was warning him what would happen if they are rescued. By answering that phone, he wasn't rescuing them... but rather condemning them to death. This explains why Jack became so distraught after reading the obituary of a person he was neither a "family or friend" to.... why he was such a messed up drunk/drug addict..... and why there was no one at the funeral/wake.... because others were also dead. Too bad we won't find out for at least 8 more months!!!!!!! Damn that's a long ass time!
I think it was the best episode in a long time (If not ever). There are so many different ways to go with it now. You are right though, 8 months is too damn long!!!

Was Ben right about these new guys being the bad guys?Who left the island and who stayed? "Spoilers" are already circulating that the woman and young boy Jack "saved" (or almost killed depending on how you look at it) were Juliette's sister and her son. Could be some "Butterfly effect" scenario maybe.

I think there was a little kid in the casket because the casket was only about 4 feet long. Only 3 foot something person could fit in there at most.
Maybe jack got juliete pregnant on the island and juliete had jacks kid and the kid died.
Remember Henery said anyone who was a kid on the island, the baby dies?

It is indeed a man. I'm pretty sure it's Locke. The guy committed suicide, which seems to indicate that Locke left the island against his will, became paralyzed again and didn't wanna live anymore. Jack then feels terrible because Locke was right all along, i.e. they shouldn't have left the island.

The more I think about it too, the more I think they are in some alternate universe or something. Jack thinking his dad is alive makes me think that even more. The reaction of the people he talked to wasn't one in which they knew he was dead.
Also, the whole thing with the plane already being found on the bottom of the ocean supports this too.

not sure that under any circumstances locke leaves the island- he knows its over for him if he leaves
ben- jack said he kept him alive so he could see them leaving not bringing him with them- so doubt he leaves the island either
also if locke had been told what would happen that was bad for him he would have stopped it altogether not just made a big scene, also desmond has information that its not the ship that was expected- that has to come into play also
wouldnt surprise if the people were actually dharma that show up.
