I was screwing around and built a system .

I built a Dimension 4600 with a 3gig+ intel processor and a flat panel 17" monitor. With the 500 off it came to just over $1000.00 with free shipping.

Pretty good deal.

I wouldn't recommend Dell even for $500 off. I just bought a Dimension 4600 for $500 off and it didn't work right out of the box. On the phone for 5 hours trying to fix it, then they finally send someone out but he brought the wrong processor AND not enough memory so they have to send someone else out. Bottom line, Dell's a joke in my book unless you like aggravation.
