They knew the fumble call was wrong and they figured the zebras would get together and have a few "make up" calls in OT to give San Diego the victory that should have been theirs if not for the call?

No, they knew nobody could get a stop. Why let the game be decided by a coin toss.

Totally agree ... if Denver had lost the coin toss for overtime they most likely would have lost the game. San Diego was moving at will and Denver was gassed. Hell, there was 24 seconds left in the game when they scored and I still thought San Diego had a chance ... even without any timeouts. Shanahan, admitted in the postgame press conference that his team's inability to stop San Diego played into his decision.

What a joke with 2pts conv.,when you are down by a touchdown and you play at home, you have high percentage to win in OT if you TIE the game, beside that you lose the game right away if you didn't make 2pt conv.
THINK IT AGAIN of 2 poscession earlier, when Denver up 31-30, they don't really want to score (neither 3 pts FG), they think they can hold SD w/ less than 5 minutes left so they threw the ball for the INT.(Throwing a ball in the end zone w/ double coverage in front of WR, you think what happened?)
Why is this happened ? BECAUSE Denver is mostly 1.5 pts favor at the closing line. they don't just score 1 pts in OT. Simple as that:lol:

My view

IMO, why take the risk of a coin flip? If they won the flip, they have to march down the field to make at least a FG or if they lost the coin flip, then they have to stop the Chargers ,(which they couldn't do in the 2nd half) ,and still score. I don't see why the 2pt conversion was a gutsy call. IMO, the 2pt is the only call. 2 yards and 1 play for the win. How hard is that? But what do I know, I manage a car lot and work every Saturday....:think2:

Absolutely correct. His defense was getting eaten alive out there.

Not too mention his kickoff team gave up nearly 200 yards to Sproles on returns..

agree with some of you. put destiny in your own hands and not in a coin flip. SD dee cant stop anything and Denver had the momentum. SD was down mentally/emotionally after getting screwed on the non-fumble call

I was at the game.

I think the 2pt try was more because San Diego didn't have any timeouts so Shanahan knew he would catch the Chargers with the wrong personnel on the field.

Shanahan got lucky because he was an idiot to roll Cutler out on the fumble play - it was important that the Broncos not score too quickly and on 2nd down from the 2, he should have run the ball to take the clock down.

I'll take the win tho.
