Anyone think the line for Georgia (-23.5) vs Central Michigan is way too high?

I love Georgia and think they do have the most talented team under Richt by far, but 23.5 seems like a whole lot of points to cover versus a dangerous CMU team. They run the spread and score often..

Thoughts?

The line is definitely high. If UGA wanted to make a statement, they could cover for sure. However, thats not richts style. We get a comfortable lead and coast. Taking the points is not a sure thing by any stretch, but its a decent bet

pop in the tape from clemson/cmu last year.
watch clemson line up and basically tell cmu 'hey, we're going to run it down your throat'
.... and then watch them do just that. snap. after snap. after snap.
35 wouldnt be enough to convince me that cmichigan is the right play here.
they are a soft football team.
georgia or pass.

since we are talking about a high line.... what do you guys think of Florida v Miami (-21.5)? Miami was solid (against a weak team) but geesh Florida looked good(!!)

i'm going to stay away but just like to hear some other thoughts

Hate laying that many points in any rivalry game.

Intensity is going to be way too high. Anything can happen.

I agree Georgia will bust the game open, but just like against Georgia Southern they will coast the rest of the way with backups/etc. Richt hardly ever beats anyone by more than 20-30 pts unless they just give them Pick 6's and kickoff returns.

If I was going to take anything in this game it would be Georgia in the first half, but I think CMU comes back to cover and make it LOOK respectable in the 2nd half.

cmu lost by 45 to kansas and 56 to clemson...wouldn't be backing them +23 too quickly with only SC State on deck for the dawgs

Florida looked good last week but they might as well have played Charleston Southern because the Rainbows suck too. Especially on the road, new coach, new QB, new WR's, ect...It's not like the Gators beat a quality team. I'm not saying the Gators are not an elite team but laying 21.5 pts against a team they have never beat is not a game I take them on. Miami could get some momentum and with the athletes they have on defense, I think they could make it a game.

Georgia got jumped by USC. Even this early in the season that's a sign that poll voters are leaning toward the Trojans over the Bulldogs if it's a close decision. Coaches love to claim they don't pay attention to polls this early in the season, but I never believe them, and this AP and Coaches' Poll leapfrogging may well be a signal to Richt that he needs to make his team look not just strong but completely dominant.

I'm very seriously looking at taking UGA, expecting them to try and roll Central Michigan as much as they can.

On a side note, this game is great for Georgia in preparation for Florida. Central Michigan's Dan LeFevour and Tim Tebow are cut from the same cloth.

Love the over. CMU will get 20.

Rolltide - Clemson and Kansas are two schools who will run it up on anyone. Richt is not like that. Not saying CMU can stop them, but they should be able to score.

i think georgia rolls here , they probably arent too happy to losing the #1 spot to USC and will take it out on an undermanned CMU team

As a Clemson fan I have to step in here. We weren't deliberately trying to run up that score. We were playing our 3rd string after the half and we couldn't help but score. It wasn't intentional.

I took GA today, I think the Dawg D will give Lefevor fits. Yeah CMU can put up points... In the MAC but nobody plays defense in that confrence. Stafford should have 200 yards in the first half and Knomo should go for 125-150. This will be worse then the Bosie St. GA game a few years ago. The coach's may not take the drop in the rankings but I think the players will.

If UGA is as good as North Dakota State, the Dawgs should be okay in this one.

I think buddy's head is in the right spot. How disrespected does Georgia have to feel after cruising past their opponent this week only to let their foot off the gas at the end of the game and they get bounced from that number one spot? Ouch. I have a feeling there might not be any letting up in this game even if that is Richt's style. This can't be sitting well with GA at all.

Richt may not go for it but I bet his players will. Honestly my only concern is that Richt know that if he wins all of his game he will be in the BCS championship no matter what anyone else does and he could be frightened by all of the injuries and try and play the second stringers a lot. I can just see it now Moreno gets hurt in the 3rd quarter of a 42-3 game.
