I just can't see it. Physically he has nothing left and what a storybook ending it is to go out as a champ.

I can see him coming back. His entire life; all he has known or seemed to care about is football.

Part of me thinks until all 32 teams say "no" as far as him being a starter, he will play.

Who really knows though. Could make a case for both. I think he cares about records; hence throwing 49 td's to be beat by Brady throwing 50, and then when Manning had the chance, he threw 55 as a way to possibly put it out of reach in a pass happy league.

He should go out like Elway.

He should have retired last year - he stats were terrible this year .

Glad he won yesterday though :)

Can't think of any team that would sign him.

Montana had very little to do with the 9ers win in '81, don't think too many people holding that against him 35 years later....

Brady in '01 didn't have a ton to do with the Pats win, but he did have that final drive leading to the AV FG which went down in history. Got hurt vs Pitt and the Pats offense didn't do very much in the superbowl vs the Rams at all.

poorest QB rating ever for a Super Bowl winning QB..... he rode that defense like Dilfer did with Ravens a few years ago

He did take the snaps and got a W, that's all that matters

Montana was the Super Bowl MVP in 1981.....What the heck are you talking about?

He led a few TD drives early but their defense was what won them that game.

He only had like 150 yards passing.

I shouldn't say "very little to do", but just meant he didn't exactly need to light it up for them to win.

1981 was the same season of ~The Catch~

Comparing Joe Montana in his Prime to Payton Manning at the end of his rope....Come up with something better then that.

I just meant the actual superbowl. Wasn't talking about the week before vs Dallas.

Payton should hold on to the little health he has left and retire.

When he gets off of the HGH, will his head shrink back to normal size?

I think Brett Favre would have a better chance of playing next season at an average level then Manning .

This is the perfect time to go out .

This last season is fresh on everyone's mind and we all realize how over the hill he is and how he rode his way to the super bowl.

But 20 years from now all anyone will remember is he won a super bowl just like John Elway.

And Elway was just about as washed up then as Manning is now.
But over the years we mostly forgot about that and just remember him winning his last game on top

In Mannings last game and the very last pass he threw was a completed 2 point conversion .

It would be impossible for him to do that next season.
I can throw further then him at this point.
