You'd be amazed at how often I saw this when I worked at a grocery store way back when. I routinely saw people use food stamps to buy steaks/shrimp/crab meat then walk out to their Mercedes.
The people who actually go about it the right way and work hard to earn a living get punished.
One of my buddy's buys under-privileged kids toys around this time every year. This year he had a better idea and asked people to donate/sponsor a family or kid for $50.
I think he ended up raising enough money to buy $50 worth of toys for 70 kids. Pretty awesome.
Ha Seymour, thanks you are a dick but a kind hearted generous dick. As I mentioned in another thread I have kinda just be doing my own thing this year on the down-low so to speak. Being spammy about it and shaking down people for money was kinda killing the meaning of it for me. I know the lady we helped last year is always running short on funds and she is adding even more kids to her home. If you want contribute something to her or the local abused childrens shelter let me know and I will make sure it gets into the right hands.
NES, since i didn't hear from u guys I actually had to put some effort in - I saw the article below and searched around to find where she was staying - knocked on the door - she didn't want to come to the door because she's sick and bald from chemo - it was very rewarding meeting her and she was very appreciative
