Wow, he will probably drop to the 5-6th round. Someone will snatch him up ....maybe in the 4th, but this guy has really gone downhill since they won the NCAA Championship.

for someone like Clarett - "running" the 40 in the time he did is more like a leisurely jog! he did cost himself a LOT of money with htis "effort". his 40-time is something most of us would be ecstatic with (for most of us - the 40 in 4.7 MINUTES would be nice) but for someone trying to make a living carrying a football - it is not a great way to impress the scouts

w/o any education (he did go to "THE Ohio State University" so we know a rocket sceintist he ain't) Clarett might soon be making a living by asking one of the 2 most frequently asked questions in life:

"Would you like to Supersize that for an extra 39-cents?"

OR

"Would you like Paper or Plastic?"

From the web site-

"Clarett bombed out at Saturday's workout by running two 40-yard dashes that could have been clocked by sundials."

He will not get drafted at all. Most fullbacks run that fast, and they weigh 30 pounds more.

May just be the picture, but something about this photo makes this kid look way out of shape.

I'm coming out of retirement. My 40 yd time was 4.8 in my sophmore year in High School. No training, first day of practice running in tennis shoes on grass that needed to be mowed. Tore my knee up playing basketball of all things 2 weekends later, my career in sports ended. My knee feels good no banging on it for the past 25 years, I'm about 40lbs over playing weight. I believe that with a little Trimspa baby, I can knock off the weight before training camp. Canseco is going to be at a book signing around the corner and I'm sure he can give me some pointers (wink) on how to become a fit and mean fighting machine. I have great hands and a good eye for the ball.

:monsters- NFL here I come.

I watched it on the nfl channel and he didn't look like he was going fast at all - and he wasn't.

I don't think he knows how to run the 40. Did he not time himself or have a trainer before the combine? They said that he did not participate in the rest of the events after the 40. I would think that you would want to show what you got in the biggest longest most important interview of your career.
He did seem to have matured some during the media interviews though.

Ronnie Brown was fast as hell. I think on his 2nd run he ran a 4.32(unofficial). 4.4 something on the first run

This makes me so happy. If he has won his courtcase and was allowed into the NFL early we would have the fiasco that is called the NBA in the NFL. This sob can rot for all I care and it looks like he is going to.

OK...I'm with all you guys. I agree that somehow this great college player has shot himself in the ass. NOW, that being said, in football, 40 times are WAY over-emphasized. WAAAAY over-emphasized. If I were a Parcels, a Belichick or one of those type that can take players and help them achieve more than they would otherwise I WOULD TAKE THIS GUY IN A MINUTE!!! I WOULD WORK WITH HIM and shave .4 of the 40 time. It is a gamble, but I think that if some hard-as$ takes this guy...they would get more from him than they paid. JUST an opinion.....from a genius!!! LOL tulsa

You wright Tulsa. It is NOT what Clarett showed but what Clarett CAN SHOW WHEN 100% HEALTHY. A Belichick will powerfully check if he could achieve that including Clarett carachter so if he can put Clarett close to his 100%. When they take Dillon they asked "Is this a good guy to coach"? What Moss for example is not.

Concorde, I agree with you. Clarret is closer to being a Dillon than a Moss. Moss was bad charma and fairly well desired despite that. Clarret is now a bane and nobody is willing to say, "maybe."

If you folks don't think Clarret doesn't know this...the fact that he is an 'embarrassment,' well, then we aren't in the same reality. I'll bet this is one fired up dude when it comes time to play. He may be so fired up that he gets hurt (physically hurt) early, but I will tell you folks...bank on it...Clarret will try his damndest to change peoples minds. IF I were a head coach in the NFL, and who here can prove I'm not....lol...and I were able to help players with personality problems..help them pick up and get going...then I would get this guy in second. You have to admit....there is nothin' but upside. tulsa
