Just read there will be a mandatory payout on Memorial Day if nobody wins it this weekend. Total pool could be over $16M come Monday.

This is a must play on Monday..ill be pushing a 500-1k ticket through the windows..pool will be largest in north American history at 15-20 million...huge fields and crap horses should make for some big payouts...sequence is brutally hard though and we will all need some racing luck

The Gulfstream Rainbow 6 Jackpot was hit today.

1-8-6-1-6-5 ( 6 of 6 ) = $ 6,678,939.12

Ramsey Zimmerman rode three of the winning horses in the sequence..... two horses were trained by Jose Garoffalo

There STILL will be a mandatory payout on Memorial Day of the Rainbow 6 ... however, the Jackpot is GONE.

It would've cost $28,512 to buy out the whole thing out and guarantee a winning combo. The powers that be at Gulfstream would've have been wise to do this. Either they hit it by themselves and collect the millions or they make millions by having a carryover.

Daniel Borislow took down the lucrative payoff with a multi-combination ticket that cost $7,603.20.

Daniel could of easily lost money on this bet ( probably, would not phase him thou. ) ... both the 11 and the 7 were right there at the finish line. If the 11 horse had his neck reaching for the finish line instead of bobbing down, there would be a carry-over into Memorial Day and Daniel's wager might not of recouped the cost...... Point being the Saturday Rainbow Pick 6 only paid $ 2,419.42

I'm wondering if there's an unforeseen loophole in that strategy of two separate tickets. Maybe not, but consider this scenario... in that 4th leg, one ticket has the post time favorite. The 2nd ticket has a horse that's a late scratch, which I assume gets replaced by the post time favorite. The post time favorite wins thus making both tickets winning tickets and therefore a carryover. Am I missing something?

No way to know who the post time favorite will be 2 hours in advance.
As far as the late scratch unless he has inside info no way to know that either.

But I would love to know why only 2 in one leg and why those 2 and not a */*/*/*/*/* ticket for $28,000. Geez the guys got millions. Maybe this was his way of gambling?

I understand no way to know, but assuming that scenario plays out, that's one way to be right and still not collect. Another possibility is if there's a dead heat in one of the legs that were wheeled. Technically that would result in more than one winning ticket (even if they're on the same ticket).
