I love the car, especially the revised interior. I have the 2.5, it has plenty of power. I looked at several cars in the 20K price range, this was by far the best.

You won't be dissapointed.

Noreaga,

Altimas are made in a plant just outside of Nashville. PT Cruisers are made in just outside Leon, Mexico. I have been on a tour of both plants for different reasons.

Which would you rather buy with this in mind?

Well chances are about 50/50 you are buying American there. Most of Nissan's cars for the US market are made in the US because even with nominally Japanese ownership, they are a company that lives and dies with the North American market. They have little share in Japan, the bosses are mostly foreigners from every part of the world, and every bit of business worldwide is done in English; even the Japanese bosses must speak English 100% of the time.

Welcome to the 21st century, most of the big companies in the world will be just like this soon enough. GM included.

I also have never owned a foreign car. I have always went with a American gas guzzler, that is horrible at holding any value and always have problems. But I am more stubborn than smart soemtimes.

My point is simply American is a misnomer much of the time. Honda and Nissan both made a higher percentage of their cars sold in the US in the US last year than GM or Ford. So sure you could say you prefer supporting American companies, but maybe you should say I am supporting American factory workers and buying a Honda Accord or a Nissan Altima. Because that Ford or GM you buy very well might be made in Mexico or Canada with Mexican and Canadian parts.

No disrespect intended to anyone, as I have found myself in the past to be in the same position. However, I find it very odd that guys who would pass on a $5000 wager over 1/2 a point would give no regard to thousands of $$ lost on the initial depreciation of a brand new automobile, regardless of the brand name or country of origin.

"jap car" ????

Is this acceptable at the RX? I know there are still a lot of hard feelings regarding the "jap slap" those guys put on us Dec. 7, but even The Tuna has been chastised for his reference.
