I was looking around last night for one or two legitimate baseball handicappers since the season starts soon. Since there are so many MLB games, you really don't need to follow more than 1 or 2 guys in my opinion.

My search basically started and ended with the sportsmonitor website. Most of the handicappers with the better records seem to come from the same website- the swami's website. That's questionable to me. I did notice another guy who seems to do well with totals according to the sportsmonitor. His name is Kevin O'Neill and his website is realworldsports. From the site, it sounds like he knows what he is talking about, but he doesn't discuss his picks and packages on his site. He gives his phone number for that.

I hate calling these people because they talk your ear off and often won't lave you alone. I was wondering if anyone has heard of him before or has better suggestions for baseball handicappers before I called. Thanks.

Supposedly, the guys over @ Dr Guru Sports built up their records by hitting MLB plays..

Investment Playmakers were solid last year as is Chris James

if you can bet one fav a day and have good money management, some cappers at youwinnow have hit 66-70% on their plays a day.
Computer Crushers were the shit at the begging of the year going 23-3 or something. If you bet 1 unit a game you'll end up +35-40 units by the end of september. You have to have discipline and money management though when playing one fav a day.

if you guys are going to play favs most of the time, a thing that i like to do is make them into a -1, it pays a little bit more and if they happen to only win by 1 you push and get your money back, in comparision to laying -1.5

I will be following Pluslines this year from day one. I have watched some and played most of last year. The website has a results page that shows win and losses from the past year. I think it was hitting at 60% plus.

They give one runline play per day and suggest putting 100 on it and 200 on the moneyline just like they do for hockey.

Yankee Capper

Last two seasons:

<table border="1" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td>MLB
</td><td>2008</td><td>717-533
</td><td>57%
</td><td>Won 512.6 Units
</td></tr><tr><td>MLB
</td><td>2007
</td><td>296-182
</td><td>62%
</td><td>Won 170 Units</td></tr></tbody></table>
If I recall correctly, he played a lot of totals and run lines so hopefully he will keep that up. Nothing worse than spending $30 for a play from someone and getting YANKEES -230

With baseball and hockey I try to follow guys with a lot of totals more than anything. Unless you are hitting 65% or picking winning dogs you will never make any money.

I won't use anyone as baseball has always been my most successful sport. I usually make quite a bankroll in baseball only to lose most of it back with football. lol. That being said, I heard tomorrowsnewspaper, at least I think that's what the guys name is......he is supposed to be good.

Hope all of you do well, as I won't be visiting the forum too much during baseball.........ya know "too many cooks in the kitchen"

Steelerman, you said it!! Anyone can give you Red Sox or Yankees at -300. I have a rule and stick to this religiously, NEVER EVER take a team -170 or higher. You are just setting yourself up to have to win 3 games to cover the one loss. I have about 15 betting rules for baseball and like I said I have been extremely successful wagering the last 20+ years on that sport.

i dont why i explain this every year..

nobody i know gives out a -300 favorite

If your smart and bet 2-5% of your bank roll on a -150 favorite to -170 favorite and hit over 66% like these guys do then you will make money if your disciplined. 2 years ago i followed sports investors from sportswire and they hit close to 80% on these types of favorites at one point hitting 20 in a row. And when they lost i always felt confident that theyd roll out 3 or 4 winners in a row. Or you can go the underdog route, play more games and hope to hit 50%. Those are two separate logics.
Give me one favorite a day and hit 66%-70% and i'll be much happier than hoping a dog can upend a favorite.

Looks like Stonewal Sports killed it last year in baseball according to The Sports Monitor. I checked their site and they are pretty expensive (probably due to the publicity from being #1 at the sports monitor). Anyone ever heard of them?

I just hear stories like that. Like I said, I don't use services for baseball!! I bet my own games and have won close to 70% of my games. I bet a lot of dogs and totals. I will take some favorites but the highest I go is -160. That is rare, probably 20-25 a year, maybe one a week during the season. :dancefool

Sean Michaels from Lang's website was very good last week. He only released 3-4 games per month.

Against my better judgment, I called this Kevin O'Neill guy and left a message yesterday. I haven't heard back. His service did well 2 of the last 3 years according to TSM, but you're right, TSM's list of services doesn't go very deep so it's hard to tell how each service did each year. anyone can have a good/bad year.
