All this and if one does win, a 1099 is issued.......contest is bad enough without a proxy, paying $250 plus a commission is silly beyond belief.

Balls-on accurate Fish, as you tend to be!

You'll always have my business...you would get a nice "added bonus" on a cash anyways, but no way will I ever consider 10% upfront. It is ridiculous...

Did someone say something about paying anyone 10% upfront? If so, I fully agree Matty. Would be dunce like.

Sharky wants a 10% commission on winnings. On a team of 5, he was going to get as much as me if we cashed. No way in hell was I signing up for that. Sucks to hear Fishy won't be around this year as I guess I won't be playing because I'm not giving someone more than I get just for turning in the plays.

Hey Matty,

10% ON WINNINGS...... may be high. But it is after the fact.... and beats paying nothing because you were unable to enter.

AND..... if you are like most people.... moving to Vegas for 3 months..... Come on. If you are not sleeping in a dumpster housing is not cheap. And who really knows how much does it cost to be in Vegas for 3 months?

Moving there was a joke.

Not paying someone 10% WASN't. Not doing it. Highway fucking robbery.

As a side note, I was going to give Fishy 3% minimum as a "added bonus" anyways, but I'm not signing myself up to make less than the proxy. Sorry...

So you are saying you have multiple guys teaming up and each split of winnings is less than 10%?

Then you have to pay taxes on 600k winnings, hopefully the LVH will wise up and issue W2-G's instead of 1099's........

Everyone pays taxes FH. I know what you're saying though. I still get to keep something.

Correct. Think we would've won $110k a piece or so for winning. Then 10% each to said proxy, then taxes. After it said and done, the proxy gets the same amount we do. Not doing it. Plus he gets his under the table cash, tax free.

I came up with the idea upfront to give Fishy 3% minimum as a nice tip. (this is new news to him because we didn't tell him). That's as fair as they come, but to get the same amount as the players isn't in any way...

I think you need to do the Math again, since you would be getting 20% and only giving him out of YOUR pocket 2%

The way I see it, proxies make out pretty well from the start.

If you can just get 17(one for each week of the Season). That $250x17= $4250 and $250 a week. Better than getting a second job would pay. Sign me up...

$My math is correct. 10% out of $550k is $55k!

$550k/5 = $110k, plus I gotta pay taxes. So okay, I would make maybe $20k more, but still...

I understand that the less you give out the better. But if you are a partner in a Group of 5, it's 2% out of each pocket.

We have to give him 10% off the top. DUH. It still equates to the same, $55k total.
