I culd have a chance to get into this. I have to do more research and find out all the laws and regulations. I am sure inspections and insurance could cost good money.

But I would have a person to mentor me that has his little place called $5 Crunch with everything pretty much cost $5. Food is very good for the price.

I looked into food trucks a long time ago... first, if you have a "hot" truck you'll need a good cook. Second you need to establish a good route; the best paying stops are construction sites with a lot of crew; the more guys the better. Third you'll probably have to "bribe" the site supervisor or boss to get the stop; this someimes means giving him free food, or for a real good stop, you might have to slip him a few bucks. Remember every other food truck wants that stop too; its competitive out there. And fourth, once you get a regular route set up, you have to give a lot of people credit until payday; this means you'll get stiffed from time to time. It's not that easy.

Construction sites are hard to find these days. I've seen the "roach Coaches" that are basically based on a pick-up truck body with all the stuff on a bed of ice, do really well !

The key is to have a really sexy chick as the driver and have her wear stuff like Daisy Dukes and halter tops, sex sells.

The bigger hot trucks would be tougher, more operating costs. I never saw anybody running a tab in my construction days. The girl drivers on the small trucks would give you an ice cold beer free ( can't sell it) if you were a regular, or maybe gave her a doobie or a tip on occasion. Everybody comes out to check out the sexy chick and buys at least a Gatorade....If a dude drove the truck, business was like 25%.

Now with a hot truck, you don't need the sex appeal factor, just decent food.....I don't think there are any big construction sites anymore....at least not like 1980's San Diego or 1990's Vegas

The food truck game is huge here in DC.

I have friends that just got into it. The build out on the truck can cost anywhere from $50-90K.

They work from 9am-3pm and are doing about $600 a day, net, and straight cash homie.
