Nice job Holyc....err Barman. Hitting Los Halos of Californaheimangeles at 40-1 AL & 85-1 WS at Canbet back in the EE days is one of my fondest forum memories. Granted, I had to hedge SF in Games 6 & 7 but the former SheHAT was also very happy. You holding any WS tickets?

And oh yeah.....did you ever post the Ray-hawk pic's?

*heh...the ol' EE moniker...glad to see it's still remembered fondly

*Ayuh...only other similar longterm future I've pulled since being online forum cat is Carolina Canes to win Stanley Cup at 20x1...Never gets old

*No WS tickets....Frankly would love this season fully even if Phils swept them since we crushed the Red Sox

*Only one Rayhawk pic currently exists....On cellphone of BILLSFAN...She sent to me, but I'm having phone issues which should be resolved shortly. She also sent to VIKING611, so hopefully he'll post asap

She herself does not know how to upload from phone to computer....

More Barman family(including the Fucking Poodle) Rayhawk pics to be created this week and will certainly post

Lots of talk in vegas how bad the books are rooting agasint the Rays as some had tampa 200-1 to win ws and had quite a bit of takers at that price. I know a guy who has hedged quite a bit out of it but is still sitting pretty darn good.

I can't believe it. How many tickets are out there at +20000. Now look at all the coin they pulled in with both NY teams, both LA teams, Boston, and the Cubs futures.

Probably a pretty fair share of AfterMidnight Drunken "lotto-minded" casino visitors who think, "Hey, I remember a couple years ago when TeamX came from nowhere. I'll drop $20 on the two longest shots"

Still, you know there were people dropping dimes on the favorites.

Didn't wanna mush it before the Series started by posting in this thread, but now that it's basically over, yes I have one:

Future Wager 05/14/08 22:04 ET
bet 500.00 to win 50,000.00 Result: Pending

2008 World Series Championship
Tampa Bay Rays 11/01/08(12:00 ET)
100 - 1

E-mailed Barman the day after I bet it to get his opinion on their chances, and felt better about the play immediately. Frustrating because I had a much smaller wager on 'em at 50-1 to win ALCS, since I could only get that price at a square shop that lowered my limits drastically. 35-1 to win ALCS was best price at my other books, but I passed. Was a nice ride, but looks like 2nd place as usual for me. Last year, had the Rockies at 75-1 to win WS and CP3 50-1 to win NBA MVP. I suck - can never close the deal on these futures. Yes, I know hedging is my friend...but can only give away so much value by taking both the Sox in G7 of ALCS and again the Phillies in the Series. There's always next year I guess :sad3:

Damn, you have balls of steel not to take a guaranteed 30K (Rays were favored coming in to WS.

Being as it may you still hedge with the High Juice on Phils at -500

Marger, a lifelong St. Petersburg resident and a season-ticket holder since the team’s inception in 1998, stands to win $25,000 on a $100 bet he placed at Bally’s last November during a quick swing through Las Vegas.
“I figured they are my team, so it was worth $100,” he said. “I thought about it when I got there, and the odds were 200-to-one (that the Rays would win the World Series). I dilly-dallied for a day and the odds jumped to 250-to-one, so I went for it.”
