Anyone here suffer from my gambling syndrome?....

I have a winning week, and that's good. Then i have another winning week, and that's good too. Then I have a losing week and it is HORRIBLE. The lows are 10x worse than the highs. I can win 5 units one week, followed by a 5 unit win, and then i may suffer a 6 unit loss, and the lows associated with it FAR outweigh the happiness associated with the wins. I am thinking that i have either got to change my mentality, or stop playing. My friends tell me i need some prozak, but i am against anti-depressants. Anyone else feel the same way, or is it just me? Any good advice would be appreciated.

Write all your plays for the season down in excel or something and tally up the %s each night overall vs focusing on that individual night.

Before you do all that, figure out a goal for yourself for the season. Estimate how many plays you are going to make, for what amount and what % you are going to try to win at. Look at your profit goal and let that be your motivation.

I don't think a person is likely to win with all that emotion.

Winninghand, that is why I think many seasoned players start scalping and middling. Once you have a certain degree of sportsbetting competance the losses even hurt worse. Nothing hurts worse than playing 3 games at the very best number and only winning 1 or none. Then you realize you could have middled the total and scalped the 1Q for a nice profit. those days with that sick feeling are very good motivators do do our craft better. GL2U

Yak, scalping is wagering both sides of an event with only a poitive outcome possible.
