My chromecast works perfect for Netflix and youtube. Not sure on the windows media player for torrents I use my key drive and plug it directly into the tv.

Can you do that with a smart tv? You mean I can plug a usb card into the tv directly and watch a windows media file that way?

Pretty sure you can. If your playing torrents you don't need to use windows media player.

Does anyone use Slingbox? I built a get-a-way cabin and just finished. I don't really want a second cable bill, but I'm going to pay for internet. I want to use Slingbox and Chromecast to get my Direct TV from my house out at the cabin. Anyone use Chromecast and/or Slingbox for this kind of purpose?
