This was in the 60"s,yeah I;m old.

Is O.C. year round now as back then day after labor day they rolled up the sidewalks.

About 13000 year round, you're right,it used to be a ghost town after the season.

thats due to all the stupid condos going up in town, what a waste. Most of the new ones are almost completely empty. The one they are building on 48th street is a disgrace. I miss the ocean club and gateway already.

Kinda hard to miss that monsrosity coming across the 90 bridge.

Four years ago I went on a baseball trip to all the cities on the east coast with my best friend and we caught an afternoon game at Camden after a round of golf. We stayed over night there and of course my dumb/ drunk ass wanted to go out and look for some ass. We went out and found a nice night spot that had a few bars right in the same area. We struck out on the ass and my way-over-the-limit got lost. Hit the on-star button and next thing you know I am in the absolute worst neighborhood I have ever been in. I am from St. Louis and have been to part of East St. Louis, but in no way would this ever compare to the shithood I was in there. I thought it was about 50/50 that we were gonna get killed. Finally, after never stopping for a single light and hoping to get pulled over. We got out of there and made it back to the hotel. Not saying I would not go back to there, but I damn sure would not stray from the hotel after dark again. I am sure every town has places you dont want to go through, but this one took the cake for me.

Ok, the thread has been redirected with good advice, but I had to add my 2 cents just in case any other unsuspecting people think about Baltimore for vacation. Don't do it.

Among the numerous episodes we encountered living over by JHU...my buddy (6'2, 210 lbs) got karate kicked off his bike going down Charles St. headed for the inner harbor. This group of kids came out of the shadows and literally high kicked him off his bike while he was speeding along his way to work. They didn't mug him when he was down and apparently did just it for kicks (pun) and laughs. Hey, we laugh it today cause my friend got scraped up from his fall and nothing more. But that's the kind of crap we dealt with every few weeks. I have a handful of other stories that we look back on and find funny, but then again, we were a group of larger guys and the downtown scum never got the best of us. Be careful if you do end up in Baltimore downtown. They are F'ing animals.
