Is there a difference in tempurpedic and memory foam? I thought they were both re same.

Tempurpidic is a memory foam mattress. It's just the brand name.

I believe they were the first company to come out with the memory foam mattress. Many other brands now have a memory foam line.

How bout that?

Maybe one of the most valuable responses I've ever gotten at this place.

Thanks.

Thats what I'm getting

That's a pillow top mattress, similar to what I have. Very comfy, and better than memory foam.

Fridge, when we built our house 2 years ago I spent almost 3 grand on a top of the line GE with french doors. I like it and did a lot of research but I have still have had the water thing go out twice since I've owned it. Sound like my dad but his fridge is 20 years old and still works like new. "Don't make em like they used to."
Even though it is my employer and I also get a hefty discount, I wouldn't buy anything appliance related from GE. They suck, and a reason why it's sold to Electrolux.

Not really. I have a pillow top that is memory foam, on top of more memory foam to boot. A regular ole pillow top can't even come close to comparing.

Call and get new ones every 3 years of the 10 year unlimited/20 yr limited warranty if you have a TP. After all, you pay for over 10 of them when you buy one.

The Westin is made by Simmons. I had the Simmons version basically and gave it a way when the TPs rolled in.

Is that one bed or 3 beds?
Three, the Allura is a Rhapsody with a pillow top, and the Cloud Supreme is a little cheaper in price, but hard to beat if you like a soft bed. I use to work for TP before I was called back to work for GE. The foundations and such are made here.

His is a memory foam, those are about twice as much 4-5k. Some people like the memory foam, but it's not for everyone.

So you are saying the allura is the best of those 3?

How much?

I have heard those make you hot.

I would not like that at all

I was very scared to try it also because I am the hottest sleeper I know, but honestly, I am less hot in this thing. I do still sweat, but it's not the mattresses fault, and it has the removable and washable cover.

They're in the $4-5k range, and unfortunately, TP makes you buy the foundations to get the warranty, which is another $500 for some foundations worth a $100.

If you lay on a Tempur Pedic in a store, it won't feel the same at home when you receive a new mattress.......first of all, the store beds have gone thru rollers, etc......to be comfortable, & they don't smell like a new mattress.....

I had to let my mattress air out for a week with open windows in my bedroom.

Then me & my gf were jumping up & down every day for 3 minutes to get the mattress stretched out a bit......but its a very comfortable mattress.

The down sides: the smell of the mattress for the first week or 2, & it does run hot......if you don't have air conditioning, DO NOT buy a Temper Pedic bed, but I love it in the winter even more.

The Sleep Number IMO are way over rated.

Thing is, everyone is different & you gotta pick the bed that best suits you.

My Cloud Luxe also has the motorized bottom part which adjusts my mattress with a remote control, I can raise my head, & my legs, pretty cool when I'm watching sports or a movie in the bedroom........

I remember laying on a bed in a store back in 1990, the bed cost $5,000 & it felt like I was laying on a cloud, it countoured my entire body & you never needed a pillow while sleeping.......I wish I would have bought it, but it was too much money for me as a 19 year old......went looking for it 10 years later, but they stopped making them, at least that's what the lady at the store stated, but I can't remember the name.

No way I would pay that for anything made by Simmons.

also, if you do go with a memory foam, skip out on memory foam pillows. One or the other...

I was talking about the tempurpedics in the 4-5k range. I have a Simmons, that's like the Westin think it was 1800. Cheap and still pretty comfy. I tried the tempurpedic and it wasn't for me. I know people love it, but I like to move around when I sleep.

Yes I like to move around a lot
So I guess that's why I enjoyed the Westin bed so much.

You can move around on a memory foam bed. Try to get a firmer one that doesn't "sink in" too much. It will adjust fast.
