My favorite sport to watch by far, but the time involved in handicapping baseball just isn't worth it to me. With football I can sit down for 2-3 hours one night and hammer out all of my plays, but with baseball it almost has to be a nightly deal... Just not worth it to take up that much time -- anyone agree?

baseball is the easiest sport to make money on, particularly for scalpers like fishhead

in my opinion its the other way around....football capping is much more time consuming then baseball is....there is so much stuff to take a look at in football + college ball saturdays is brutal

baseball all you need to cap in my opinion is starting pitching.

Baseball is much easier to make a profit at than hoops...at least in my experience.

I love the first 4 months of baseball, I will have more money in acrion in those months than I will the rest of the year. I am still trying to figure out how to adjust after the all-star break. For me handicapping NBA sides is not worth it, because it always comes down to the last 2 minutes anyways.

The NBA is a playoffs, spot-play, middler's, and totals guys sport, that has been on the slide for years now..it's mostly garbage time cr@p.

The majority of sharps(some stronger at varying ones) have always made their money at MLB first, then college football, with college basketball & the NFL also in their mix, as these four are the kings for making money.

MLB despite roids, bandboxes, juiced balls, and expansion effects on pitching, still is where many get the bankrolls they may or may not win with to the fall's football seasons.

Yet the last decade has made this a much tougher moneymaker than it was previously.

The legendary Bob Martin was a baseball man..The Kosher Kids are baseball men..etc..

What are some methods (you) to use on handicapping baseball, esp since Money Lines are factored in heavier than any other sport. Seems like virtually everyone is saying they have most success with MLB and I'm curious to know what their methods are. And who would you say are the great mlb cappers in this forum? Just trying to gear up early before the season comes around. tks

Sound of Silence,

I don't cap bases, so I'm no help there. I can't even watch baseball. The games are too slow, and there is way too much standing around and warm-up time. 162 games? Get real! No one game means anything until September. Plus summer is a time when I get out and do things myself, don't watch TV or follow bases.

Football is much more exciting, IMHO. College basketball is next, but they get too many time-outs at the end of games. NBA is a joke, doesn't even seem like a sport anymore to me, just a one-on-one drive to the hoop and score or get fouled exhibition. Sure miss watching the Lakers & Celtics go at it in the 80s. That was fundamental, TEAM basketball, Man!

The best part about baseball is that it's essentially vig-free, or better, if you do even a little shopping around. So any handicapping edge that you can create results in direct profit. :suomi:

The hardest but most enjoyable sports to handicap are college hoops and then baseball. NHL is a distant third.

NFL is the easiest and requires hardly any technical research at all. Then comes the NBA.

I would say College football is middle of the road but relatively easy.

That's the way it works for me...

Scalping heaven if you have the time. Personaly never got into it much. Tracked some plays last year i would have played and would have netted about 25 units, playing dogs only and following solid cappers here.

Baseball is real easy to beat without scalping. I keep up with hits, walks, and strikeout ratio on every pitcher. its real important to stay away from teams that are on a losing streak. you cant make a losing team win. I mostly bet on underdogs, when I do bet a favorite, I will not lay more than -120. baseball been real good to me, as long as you manage your money you should have no problem winning as long as you know what you are doing. dont make no force plays. baseball is real easy to beat, I cant wait till it gets here.

omg. no way. you get the package you watch these clubs for yourself. combine it with stat fox and then some other site for weather/ump info. like shooting fish in a barell. takes you 10 minutes to sucsesfully handicap an mlb game.

ive had a real big problem with focus recently and i dont know how to solve it yet but ill figure it out.

everything is there for you to get paid
