Anyone else wonder how so many people can die from a tornado?

I'm not sure exactly of the dates on this but I believe it was around the 1950's in Omaha, Nebraska and they had the worst tornado rip through that city and amazingly only something like two people died because they sat on the roof of their house to watch it.

my mom is there today cooking for some of the victims

Ask her how people burn their fingers on the stove. Don't they see the red light is on and the burner is glowing??

If I have to be called a mercenary....then you can call me whatever you'd like.

I just pray we can call you "alive" in future years rather than your just being another statistic of an American dying in a foreign country while in the service of whatever corrupt government has you killing on their behalf that day.

I talked to a young Afghan girl.....

I guess those couple dozen posts you made this past fall lecturing me about how those people insist on being called "Afghanis" are pretty much out the window now.

And if you take the time on a nice Saturday afternoon you will look and see I never said such a thing. They insist being called "Afghans." How do I know this now and back then? Because this is my second tour to Afghanistan and I work around the Afghans each day. I think I'm qualified to talk about the Afghans and Afghanistan slightly more than you having now spent 9 months of my life here.

Now please look it up and then come back and tell me what the posts said. You will have to admit you were wrong but I don't think that will happen for some reason.

And if I'm killed in action then I hope my immediate friends and family consider me a "hero" because I put my life on the line in combat. To me, there's no more honorable way to die then on the battlefield. This is called honor and commitment to yourself, family and country something I'm not sure you understand. The veterans on this board understand it though.

You can mock me and my service, laugh at our existence Afghanistan and even wish me dead but at least I can say on this day I made a difference. I wish you could say the same.
