A little bit... I thought if they struggled this year it would be due to QB play. Not really the case here. Turnovers kill, not to mention bad luck

I'm not. pretty much said Ole Miss would win and took them on the ML earlier. I've been saying for the past 3 years that Saban and Smart have not adjusted to the spread. Mobile QB and offenses that can get to the corner and also throw the ball, can exploit Bama as theyve had a leaky secondary for the past 3+ years. Their defense is way to big and slow. The defense is built for LSU who runs typically between the tackles. It's why TAMU beat them a couple years ago with Manziel, and why Auburn and Miss have had success against them. As compared to MSU who runs between the tackles with their spread attack. Bama living on the hype of years past.

You tell me, do they look like the #3 team in the country? As I said in the preseason, why does Bama get a pass and a high ranking with all the talent they've lost and they come into the season with no proven QB on the roster. Did not make sense. Not bashing, it's gambling and we all need to objectively be able to look at these teams and not fall for the hype

One other thing I will add, the Bama OL is way over hyped. Last year with Sims at QB, his mobility made up for a lot of their missed blocks. Coker cannot do the same from a skill perspective. Their OL sucks

Very good points.... I knew their lack of a QB would be a problem but ole miss hanging 40 was a surprise to me any which way you spin it

not surprised because the entire tout and gambling world was on them.
also because Bama has seemed beatable of late
they competed, but the breaks did not go their way and Miss took advantage.

oh well, Bama will still make the final 4 even with 2 or 3 losses because...Bama!
so never fear Tide fans!

5 turnovers was the difference in the game.

I am....especially the way it happened. If it was 24-17 or so I would understand, but Ole Miss took it to them.

Regarding the OP's comments...Ole Miss is not necessarily "up and coming". Their fantastic 2012 recruiting class has matured and they are what they are: a stout CFB/SEC team. There will be a drop off in a year or two as they haven't recruited to that level consistently and will fall back to the 8-10 win season range (still respectable)....but not a year-in/year-out power house.

defense is lacking in the SEC compared to years past.. seeing some Pac 12 type of games out there.. not saying that is a bad thing....SEC East is closing the gap a little on the West IMO..

Defense is not lacking...you obviously weren't watching the game. I called ole miss and made a ton on my bet so I'm not being a homer. We had 5 turnovers in our half, a crazy tipped ball drill that turned into a 70 yard TD, and another long TD on an option pass with O-linemen over 5 yards downfield( obviously not called) our defense was not the issue. And ole miss has one of the best passing offenses in the NCAA.

I agree with this. Bama dominated the 1H in all areas but scoreboard and turnovers. I don't know many teams that would hang in there and fight like they did last night.

On a side note. Derrick Henry has lost at least 3 steps this year. He is terrible.

I had Ole Miss too , but who cares... you obviously didn't watch the game either .defense in the SEC is not what it was compared to 5 years ago..

Offenses have gotten better. Still hands down the best defensive conference in the NCAA....by a wide margin.

depends on how you look at it... QB's in that league are not pro caliber or what they were recently either
