The last fight I saw him in was that technical war with James Toney.
To me Joe Mesi is "an Italian Dana Rosenblatt"

Jirov is a world class fighter and if he can take a punch (and I think he can) i think he outboxes Mesi and wins a comfortable decision(like any decision is ever comfortable)

Yes? No?

I would be absolutely shocked if Jirov pulls off a win over Mesi. Mesi seems to be in tip-top condition while Jirov looks out-of-shape. I understand that he is fighting at heavyweight now, but I doubt that he will be effective carrying that much weight on his frame. In the past we would put Mesi's conditioning into question. Now, it is the other way around for me.

I like Joe Mesi in this one with Jirov by decision as my hedge.

Guys, have you seen Jirov since the Toney fight? To make it blunt, he has looked awful, and as tough as he is, he will be right in front of Mesi, who may not be the best, but Mesi is a Power hitting, ture heavy weight. Jirov is gonna get tagged.
I do believe that Jirov could possibly hang tough, but dont go by what you saw against Toney, because he hasnt looked even close to that since. I think that all of his tough pro wars, and his insane amatuer training schedule have taken its toll on the Russian Bear. My opinion is a TKO for Mesi in round 3.. Good luck though guys.

Well i have to admit when im wrong, and Jirov was dominated for 8 rounds, but his toughness is really incredible. Mesi barely survived that onslaught, but i hope people respect this kids skills and toughness and dont take it as a chance to bash him. He isnt the next Marciano, but he is a solid fighter who is fun to watch. As far as Jirov, i will never bet against him again.

I took Jirov too for a nickel. I thought that it should of been at least a draw. After I laid the bet I was like geez what am I thinking? I was thinking Jirov would win a decision but of course Mesi is the big money guy and would get lots of love from the judges. I actually didnt think it was that bad of a decision. Just wished Jirov could have finished him off.

I thought the decision was a fair one also. Honestly besides round 1, what the hell did Jirov do until 9 & 10? He had time to put him away but just didn't.

I was at the fight and Mesi deserved the decision. But he can't handle a top hvywt. He keeps his hands too low and Jirov showed he can't take a punch. Either of the Klit brothers knock him out. If that fight had been a 12 rounder he'd have lost. Just another white hope that's been brought along slowly in the hopes of a big payday... which he might get after that showing. No one's gonna be scared to fight him after what a blown up cruiserweight did to him.
