Obviously it's not the bowl they want to be at, but they just have so much more talent than MSU. They also have guys looking for big games to impress the pro scouts, that could be a huge factor.

MSU got blown out against PSU and OSU when they played teams with talent at a similar level to Georgia's...if UGA wants to show up and play they shouldn't have huge problems with MSU, if they don't, MSU will run all over them.

I have to admit Georgia looks much better on paper but that's been the case all year. MSU could have easily finished 7-5 but got every break known to man all year. They have a very average offense and a weak bend don't break D. On the other hand UGA has had a horrible season. Who really knows how good or bad this team really is. They got blown out by every good team they played as well and when it came to the mediocre teams, they barely won. They could have easily lost to the Game Cocks, Auburn and Kentucky. I will probably pass on this one but everyone including the public loves UGA here.

Personally, I think Vegas put this at -7.5 to get everyone on UGA.

I can only think of reasons not to take either team but I would lean MSU getting 7.5 just due to the fact that MSU plays ball controll, has a solid coach, and does well in TO margin.

Last year they were over matched against BC and hung in there for 4 quarters. That game fell real close to the spread and this one will too I think.

Last year the Spartans played BC in the Champs and that line was BC +4. One of the biggest sucker bets of the bowl season. 3 of MSU's top 4 defenders did not play in the game, STATE commited 5 turnovers and still only lost by 3. BC was supposed to be playin in a BCS game, at least they thought.

This game is eerily similar. If you saw the 2nd half of that GT/ UGA game you'd have to be hard pressed to want to put loot on the Daws, 'cause they rolled over and played like 'em in that game. That's supposed to be a rival and they went home at halftime.
Want to has alot to do with the bowl season, UGA has read press clippings all preseason, in-season & I imagine they will continue to do so in the bowl season. They show up they should win.

MSU in 2 seasons has been beat by more than 7 points 2 times, this year against tOSU & PSU. Very different circumstances in those games. STATE will keep this one close.

This opened at 5.5, let the points roll up to 8 then get some MSU action.

The thing that scares me about Michigan State though is that defense. The 3 times they played a living, breathing offense, they got smoked. Cal beat them by dropping 38, Penn State, dropped 49, and Ohio State dropped 45. None of those have the offensive fire power all around that Georgia does. Stafford will be the best QB they've seen all year, Moreno will be one of the 3 best RBs, and Massaquoi/Green may be the 1st or 2nd best WR combo. This Bulldogs offense SHOULD (keyword should) put up around 40.

On the other side of the ball, the Georgia defense is the real question mark in this game. They have the talent to shut down Ringer but after watching the GT game, they probably won't. Iowa, Penn State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Cal all held him to less than 100 yards. The athletes are there but the production isn't. Can Georgia get it together?

Georgia - 42
Michigan State -30

The OVER in my opinion is the best bet of this game.

Nothing scares me about Michigan State. I already laid the wood behind UGA. Sparty was outgained in conference play. This just isn't that good of a team.

UGa is too inconsistent for me. They could blow out MSU or lose outright. I'm not touching this game.

True, UGA has been inconsistent, but in order to get such a good price in an obvious talent mismatch, you are not going to have the luxury of backing a team that has been kicking everyone's ass. You have to gamble a little to win.

On paper this matchup clearly favors UGA, but as several have stated, it really depends on if UGA wants to play or not.

Too many times teams just show, when they had UGA's expectations.

No play for me. I think UGA cover or MSU moneyline.

Michigan State is one dimensional with Ringer. Why would Ringer want to carry the ball 30 plus times in this game and jeopardize a pro career? Hoyer not good enough to win this one on his own. If UGA has any interest in showing up, they should roll.

At the end of the day, this is a matchup between a preseason top five team and a team that was projected to be no better than middle of the pack in the Big Ten. I understand all you people warning about UGA's interest level, but it is worth the gamble IMO to take the big talent mismatch and only lay seven. Every game has considerable risk involved, that's why this is called educated gambling.

I didn't know J Ring decides how many times to carry the rock. I thought Mark D had something to do with that decision.

Why even play in the game and I being serious. Guys like Moreno, Wells, only thing to gain is an injury.
