I don't care what you call (arrogant, cocky, scammer, capper, tout) because the bottom line is I am making cash with my big plays and money is all that really matters in sports betting. Am I right or am I wrong? So yesterday's $5000 bomb now makes me 6-1 in my posted large money 5k wagers and there is no reason to believe I am not going to continue my run today and bring home some nice dough. I have always called myself a streaky capper and my only loss since I started posting these was a blown 4-0 lead by the Boston Red Sox against the Los Angeles Angels. Oh well I have moved on and kept winning since.
My writeup and reasons today won't be as good as the one yesterday but I still like this all the same. Believe or not the Baltimore Orioles are actually somewhat coming around and winning games the last little. I think the only value on this team is right here and right now while they still have their momentum. The Orioles have won two of the first three games of this series, their only loss was to Zack Greinke and with the series still up for grabs, I am pretty damn sure we see one of their best lineups out there looking for blood. I think they have a huge edge in starting pitching here today and as long as their bullpen can hold down the fort (3.47 ERA the last 10 games for the pen is pretty damn good if you ask me). Luke Hochevar is on the mound for the Kansas City Royals in this game and believe me when I say that the Baltimore lineup is taylor made to rock this kid right back where he came from. That fact that Hochevar struggles big time against left-handed batters makes me feel even better about my:
Baltimore Orioles ML -114
Don't hesitate. As much as you want to tell yourselves that there is no way the Orioles walk in here and take 3 of 4 possible games, it's about to happen and the Royals are not going to continue winning the way they have been winning all season long. ***ADAM JONES IS OUT AGAIN TODAY for the Orioles but let's not worry about that because right-handed bats are expandable in this game against Hochevar and although I would have loved for him to play, we can do with or without him in this one. Let me bring up a few facts about Luke Hochevar here and you guys tell me if you are still interested in backing him or the Royals:
Luke Hochevar...24 career starts, 5.64 ERA, 1.49 WHIP
Luke Hochevar vs. Baltimore...0-2, 6.92 ERA, 1.23 WHIP
Luke Hochevar...5 career daytime starts, 0-4, 7.33 ERA, 1.59 WHIP
Here is my key to this game guys and you better listen to this one well or the game is going to be over by the time you know it. This guy was a 1st Round pick of the Kansas City Royals back in 2006 and I don't know if it's because he was brought up too early in his career or because he is not as good as touted to be back then but he has sucked and he has not helped this team win at all. This is a fantastic matchup for the Orioles offense and I think they have the bullpen right now to support any kind of lead they put up there today. Luke Hochevar does not have good stuff and he is horrendous against left-handed batters. If you don't believe me on what a lineup like the Orioles can do to him, look no further than:
Luke Hochevar Career Stats
Vs. Righties: 75.1 IP, 5 HR's, 25 BB's, 1.25 WHIP, .246 Average
Vs. Lefties: 68.1 IP, 9 HR's, 28 BB's, 1.76 WHIP, .316 Average
Do you not see the difference here between how Hochevar pitches against guys from the right hand side and guys who come to bat from the left hand side? And the reason that is a big deal to me is once again because the projected Orioles lineup for today is full of left-handed bats and I have a feeling they are going to rock Hochevar right back to the minors after only two starts on the season.
*LEFT HANDED BATTERS IN ORIOLES LINEUP
Nick Markakis...batting .357 versus righties
Aubrey Huff...batting .340 versus righties
Brian Roberts...batting .295 versus righties
Felix Pie...all 12 career SB vs. righties
Greg Zaun...career .400 hitter vs. Hochevar
Cesar Izturis...batting .273 in day games
So this is only half the guys in the lineup who bat from the left hand side if they want to but guys not mentioned here are Lou Montanez who is a career .305 versus right handed pitchers, Melvin Mora who has a seven game hit streak going right now and you just have to like the base of this offense. Now we move onto pitching because the Royals can actually hit the ball this season and Baltimore has had all sorts of problems with their starting pitching. On the mound for the Orioles today is Koji Uehara. I know he is not your ideal wager on a Sunday afternoon facing a team that is at home and trying to avoid a series loss to a basement dwelling Baltimore team but Uehara is actually perfect for the job here. He has never faced the Royals in his short career and so far what we know about this 34 year old rookie from Japan is that:
Uehara Daytime Starts: 0-3, 3.12 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, .248 Average
Uehara Nightime Starts: 2-0, 5.40 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, .246 Average
Let's be fair to him though. His offense has been M.I.A in his last three starts providing him with only 2.7 runs of offense per game in those games and I just don't see them being held down to anything less than 6-7 runs against Hochevar in this game. It tells you something that the guy has pitched well during daytime games but has an 0-3 record to show for it and I think the Orioles are going to bring out the bats in this one. He allowed only 2 ER's at Fenway Park in 7.0 strong innings of a 2-1 loss to Boston and he allowed only 3 ER's at Tropicana Field in a 6-3 loss to the Rays in his last road outing. He is coming off a very strong start at home against the Yankees where he allowed only 1 ER in 6.0 strong innings of work and like I mentioned before, the Orioles bullpen has been solid enough to pick up the slack in this one.
I understand Hochevar is having one hell of a season at the AAA level but he is going to enjoy another rude welcome back to the Majors start today. He faced the Orioles twice last season (once at home and once on the road) and went 0-2 in those games, pitched 13 innings, allowed 10 ER's, allowed 11 hits and just never got the job done. Kansas City is playing horrendous baseball right now and after a hot start they have now lost 7 of their last 8 games and are worth fading in my mind. I think the Orioles continue pounding away on right handed starters here and this is more money for us.
