You are kidding right?
The once dominate brand pasted by Toyota and Honda for quality and reliability. Management of GMC has been horrible. I remember Ross Perot was on their board and said the problem was too many executives in chauffeur driven limos with no clue what average American wants. Then literally a couple hundred are shown leaving the headquarters at 5:00. He was right and they bought him out. That was back in the early 80's maybe. Not much has changed.
I have a 2011 Wrangler Unlimited. I love it for running around town, but I wouldn't want to drive it cross country. I've never had any problems with it, but I maintain my vehicles pretty well. It is very capable in the snow, and it is fun to run over curbs and lawns in Suburbia just because you can. I have both tops, but use the hard top most of the time.
if you are looking for a Wrangler, they came out with a more powerful and more efficient engine in 2012. Also, Jeeps hold their value very well; you'll never have a problem selling one.

I have owned 3 Wranglers, and currently have a 2015 Wrangler unlimited Willy version. Have loved them all, and really like the new one with the Freedom top.
If you go Wrangler, yo have to accept that it rides rough, and the interior come with flaws and visible welds. What model you thinking?
I will be selling mine in 2017 if InI want the New Wrangler Pick up that is coming out.

my friend's son bought a new Wrangler two years ago
his engine blew
he's annul about maintenance, always did everything on time, always spotless
Jeep refused to honor their warranty, they said the air filter he installed wasn't their's and let particles into the engine which caused it to fail
I don't recall the name of the air filter, but it's supposedly a very high end product, supposedly better than what the factory installed
I don't like Jeep for that reason alone
PS: this all happened within the past month, it's not worth hiring an atty to fight it. I advised them to contact a consumer advocate from one of the local news stations

Most likely a K&N drop in, and no way it caused the engine to seize by letting in particles. They'd have to prove that, and no way they can. Plus a drop in filter voids zero warranties, neither does brand of oil, filter, etc. great advice to contact media and I'd do everything to gain spotlight on this situation. They'll change their minds if it airs on the news...
